COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

First beer at a drinking and eating session at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. 250ml bottle. Hazy, blond body over a lasting, white tophead. Nice spicy aroma with hints of fresh fruits. Light spicy flavour supported by clementines and nettly hops. Touch of yeast to the end. Moderate sweetness (30.05.2008).

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold with a moderate white head and plenty of carbonation. Slightly sweet, herb and grassy hop aroma. Flavours of herbs such as coriander, yeast and some hops in the finish. Good.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2008 Bottle, courtesy Papsoe. Pours a light murky caramel color, with a fizzy half-inch of white head, and drippy wet lacing. Clove aroma, banana, raisin, cream, some oats and grain. Belgian yeast prominent in the flavor, coriander, some zest, hoppy bitterness, and a distinct chalkiness. Body is clean and refreshing overall. Quite drinkable.

thanks to auderale for this one. It pours very pale yellow with a large foamy white head that quickly dies. The flavor is lemony/orangey and it’s quite the thirst quencher on a hot day (96F/35F)

A citrussy, hoppy blonde ale that reminds me somewhat of American pale ales. Tastes like home! Pours a hazy orange with thin, white, lacy head. Nose of orange zest and fresh hops... although the orange could be all esters, rather than hop aroma. Doesn’t matter, smells good. Flavor starts a bit sweet but folds quickly into a dry, lasting bitterness. Touch of alcohol showing through, but still refreshing. Nice beer. I enjoyed this more than the bigger Malheurs, which run too sweet for me.

Bottle, 25 cl. Average size creamy, white head with excellent lacing. Lightly cloudy, yellow colour. Average/heavy malty aroma of bread and grain. Light hoppy aroma of flowers and perfume. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation and bitter finish. Moderate/heavy sweet flavor and light bitter. One-dimensional.

33 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy orange with a huge white and collapsing head. Faint grassy aroma, mild yeasty note and a light citrus fruity note too. Flavour is light citrus fruity with a mild malty base towards a light pilsner grassy flavour. Holds a smooth and light belgian yeast note. Very light compared to the bigger brothers of this brew. Ends with a mild lingering yeasty spice note. Refreshing.

Straw color yellow beer with a huge rocky white head. Light spicey nose. Sweet beer with some orange and yeast. It is a lighter beer, with the flavors more subtle than most Belgian ales, which makes it very quaffable.
