COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

Dorée claire, pétillance moyenne, col fin. Du début malté, on ne passe pas trop vite au houblon à cause d’un côté lavasse. Manque cruellement de nuances!

Tried at Anders Bier festival in Tongeren. Pale orange beer, nice white creamy head that disappear slowly. Aroma is grainy, malty. Flavor is quite sweet, with some hints of malt and yeast. Mouthfeel is low carbonation, light to medium body. I’ve got a little bit disappointed after try the Malheur 10! :/

Mooi goudgeel biertje. Weinig schuim. Lekker fris biertje, weinig alcohol goed doordrinkbaar

From bottle at a tasting at Bar & Cigar. Almost clear golden with a white head. Fairly mild fruity and yeasty aroma with spices, malt and hints of hops. Moderate sweet, yeasty and fruity with some acidity and bitterness. Well balanced. Nice and easy drinkable Belgian ale.

0.25l bottle. This is a near clear, light blurry golden one with a big lasting white top. It smells really classic Belgian this. Belgian yeast, bright candied sugar, green sweet apples, something almost herbal and traces of some canned fruit-juice. Really lightdrinkable, somewhat fruit-sour sweet like glucose. It has a average+ carbonation level and a light oily mouthfeel. Again some light apply thing in the taste with hints of canned peaches. It’s actually not all that exciting his, but it’s not totally boring either. Just a bit generic perhaps? Lightdrinkable and definitely a Belgian taste over it. 16.05.2013

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy dark straw colour with a big whipped eggwhite-like off-white head. Aroma of citrus, Belgian yeast and some sweet fruit and spices. Mild flavour with much of the same but with more pale malt, straw and hay. Has a smooth and slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A solid and mild Belgian blond ale.

A light pale Belgian ale with light fruity notes and a clean crisp palate. An easy drinking thirst quencher beer but nothing too exciting.

25 cl. bottle from ALBO @ home. BBF 24/11/2013. Light hazy hay golden, quickly fading white head. Nose is bitter esters, BE style, some BE yeast, fresh hay, light citrus, grass, hint medicinal. Taste is hay, citrus, esters, some almost yoghurt / white bread sweet BE yeast, cereal, bitter grass, almost hint medicinal alcohol. Carb. is far too explosive. Manageable for the style. Not the biggest enthusiast of the Malheur series except for Dark Brut which is phenomenal.
