COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

Very hazy golden body with a small white head that settles as a thin layer, some lacing. The aroma is rather strong and quite candy sweet, but also with hints of dust. Itís fruity with banana, bubble gum, spices, yeast and traces of vanilla. A very light sweetness and bitterness, and the finish isnít very long-lasting. The quite strong flavours are a bit less candy-ish than the aroma and the spices are more evident. Medium to light bodied, a bit water body with a dry finish, lively carbonation. Quite good.

Bottle. Hazy pale golden body, medium to small head. Sweet yeasty aroma with wheat. Sweet wheaty/yeasty taste. Adequate hoppiness. Alright table beer but a forgettable drop in the vast ocean of Belgian Blondes. Could do with a stronger character. PS: "Malheur 6" sounds like a name for a French rap sextet or a metal band.

(on bottle) Vague, but complex, fruity nose and a champagne-fresh mouthfeel. Itīs a straight beer, not overpowered, has an applecider-like finish to it Would be perfect for cervice(raw lemon-marinaded haddock with chilli).

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy dark straw colour with a big whipped eggwhite-like off-white head. Aroma of citrus, Belgian yeast and some sweet fruit and spices. Mild flavour with much of the same but with more pale malt, straw and hay. Has a smooth and slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A solid and mild Belgian blond ale.

At Cambrinus in Halle. Unfiltered pale ale. On the lighter side for a Belgium beer but refreshing.

A pale golden yellow coloured beer with a frothy and thick white head. A light, dusty malt smell, biscuity, then a tropical fruit hop aroma with a hint of spice. Medium-dry mouthfeel. A dry, biscuity malt taste to start, but this is only brief, it is soon taken over by a tangy tropical fruit hop flavour, with pineapple, banana and citrusy grapefruit and lemon. There is a hint of clove and cinnamon spice, reminiscent of a wheat beer. The finish is long, tangy fruit along with the spices.
