COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

A light pale Belgian ale with light fruity notes and a clean crisp palate. An easy drinking thirst quencher beer but nothing too exciting.

Difficult to classify: triple? golden ale? something ele entirely? Who knows, but I still really enjoyed this ale. Light, fluffy body and yeasty nose and flavors, and a great bottle-conditioned twang.

Mooi goudgeel biertje. Weinig schuim. Lekker fris biertje, weinig alcohol goed doordrinkbaar

Bottle. Clear pale gold body with a huge white head. Effervescent. Aroma taste: Floral, herbs, sherbert, with suble banana-clove notes and a dry bitter finish. Light bodied, with some carbonic acidity.

Gigantic foamy, rocky, meringue-like white head. Clear golden color. Aroma of fresh apples, pears, and citrus. Some light spiciness (coriander, nutmeg). Well-balanced fruity flavors (apples, pears), bitter hops, and a pleasant spiciness. Nice rich mouthfeel, slightly sticky and syrupy. Very bitter and dry finish. Good stuff.

Appearance: pale yellow color. Medium head, white, rocky and not very lasting. Aroma: enough hoppy, with herbal and some mentholated and semi-citric. To malts, yeast and bubble-gun. Light hints of chamomile, lemon skin and papaya reminiscences. Flavor: malty start, quickly progress of yeast with earthy and bubble-gum hints. Medium and lasting dry-hoppy, some astringent, with grassy and peel lemon touches. Very slight metallic note. Palate: light to medium body and high carbonation. Remark: mediocre Belgian blond, some light in body. Only the hoppiness is some highlighted.

Hazy blonde, good head. Yeasty aroma, some esters. Taste is nice sweet malts. Unfortunately, a bit anonymous. Yet another very good Belgian ale.

25 cl bottle, ’bbe’ May 07. Muddy amber, a plethora of fine bubbles, rich, overwhelming white head. Sticky aroma of honey biscuits as a basis for rather fishy smelling hops. Malty, honeyish taste with surprising tartiness on the tongue edges and a hoppy punch in the back of the mouth. A quickly disappearing body.
