COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

Slightly hazy golden color, good off-white head. Aroma of fresh herbs, rubber and lime peels. Quite light, watery for being 6% brew. Crisp. Flavor is similar to nose: lime peels, flowery - elderflowery herbal flavors, dry finish. Refreshing but simple.

Pale golden body with minimal lasting head. Citrus and a touch of spice in the aroma. Taste is simple and easy enough to drink, citrus and orange once again.

Where Malheur 12 is one of my favorite beer, this is surprisingly boring. It’s just an ok beer, nothing special about it. Pretty much like a pilsner but twice the price getting a smaller 25 cl in return.

Clear orange, nice white head. Artificial taste and aroma, like a malt liquor, sweet and alcohol, despite the low abv.

Bottle. Clear golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of bread, white pepper, bubblegum, dried fruit, flour and earth. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of bread, grain, dried fruit and earth. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Not that nice.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2011 Bottle. Unclear, golden body, and an off-white head. Spices, pale malt, some sugar and grass in the aroma. Nice, but a bit boring. Grass, pale malt, spicyness and some hops in the flavor, finishing dry and spicy. Medium body. A nice beer, but the Malheur 4-10 are growing a bit boring on me. Rating: 6-4-6-3-13-3.2. 070928

Bottle. It pours a hazy, golden body and a minimal-sized off-white head. Belgo-style fruity aroma with sugar and a hint of cellar. Slightly citrusy flavor, some pale malts and a faint hint of cellar. Medium body, citrusy, malty finish. It drinks easy, but is almost as boring as an industrial pilsner. 110107

Clear golden colour with a dense white head. Malty aroma with a light fruity sweetness. Pilsner like flavor with some maltyness and hints of fruit. Sparkling fairly thin body.
