| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Funky cheese, lemony, horseblanket, taste dry and spritzy, light malt. Lots of yeasty accents. This just didn’t grow on me. CaptainCougar (5407), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Pours a very clear pale golden with a puffy clumpy white head. Fresh, lightly floral Belgian yeasty aroma. Has a nice, semi-sweet caramel and pale malty presence with a dry finish that hides the alcohol fairly well. Thanks to fattyre and bunnyhop for sharing this at the Southeastern Gathering! skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2005 Appearance gets bumped a point solely for the impressive bottle. The pour is reminiscent of Duvel, but lacking the beauity in aroma. Flavor is almost all yeast, witha little dry nut. Solid finsih, with some crackle - while maintaingin its light brut character. lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Hazy intens yellow-orange beer with puffy white froth. Aroma’s of fruit-cake, crumble-cake, almonds, some citrus, spices and yeast accents in the nose. It has a full taste with a cookie accent and hints of cachew-nut, exotic fruits, yeast and some spices. Afther taste is a bit alcoholic and on the dry side. It ands with a herbal bitter touch. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 15, 2005 Pours a bit cloudy orangeish yellow colour with a giant meringue-like creamy head. The nose is of oranges, apricots, fresh and yeasty, tart with a touch of acidity. Complex is definitely a word that comes to mind, and when it warms it just gets more so. I like this even more than the standard Malheur 10. The finish is champagne-dry and slightly bitter. Too bad this was the last of my twelve bottles----damn good stuff.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 29, 2005 (Bottled, 0.75l, 11% ABV) Hazy golden color with a huge(!) head (kept foaming for long after opening - don’t try this from a small glass!). Fruity (apple/lemon), sourish, peppery-spicy, somewhat orvaly aroma. Very strong, dry and fruity, spicy, acidic, slightly buttery-lipsticky, toffeeish and yeasty flavor with cantaloupe melon hints. Medium to full-bodied, slicky, warming and slightly alcoholic, champagne-carbonated palate. Hides the ABV very well, though. A very nice, complex and tasty replacement for any champagne - almost like Orval in a champagne bottle. Way better than Deus - should have got this for the new year’s! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2005 Clear, golden body with a huge, white head. Wheat, lemongrass, honey, spicy yeast, subtle, earthy hops, ginger, white pepper, peach skins and a little, sour apple component as well. The body is light and crisp with the extreme effervescence. The flavor is crisp and refreshing, leaving a nice long finish. The 11% alcohol is not noticable at all. Truly enjoyable and an excellent beer for the New Year’s Eve celebrations! | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 2, 2005 Bottle. Unclear yellow colour with a fantastic head. Wheat, fruit/citrus, spices (pepper, coriander, ginger), herbs (thyme?), dough/yeast --- complex!. Dry and very intense. New years eve complete...
