trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2008 Pours a classic light honey amber with an effervescence like I’ve never seen in any beer. It pours like a champagne. Head is huge - even with a *very* slow pour it took a while to die down. Aroma of citrus, nectarine, yeast and hops. Flavor is very nice. Hits your tongue with the liveliness of champagne and explodes with dry hops, yeast, light citrus, wheat and spices. Finishes incredibly dry. I didn’t get as much sweetness as other people did. Fun to try something this out of the ordinary, but still - not something that wowed me overall. BeerSlacker (34), Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2008 Small bubbles, excellent head retention with Belgian lace. Effervescent head, with fruity nose - think strawberries. Touch of alcoholic heat at finish. Fruity body, but not overly sweet. Bit of dryness at end as well. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 23, 2008 [EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] Large egg-white head that really lasted. God display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Aroma was quite complex with notes of strong fruit and yeast, citrus, spice, champagne, mild alcohol, caramel, nuts, peach. Full bodied with a lively carbonation and mild alcoholic sparkling texture. Heavy sweet flavor with mild acidic and maybe a hint of bitterness. Lingering sweet spicy finish. Wow very nice! Clear golden look with lots of bubbles crealing a bubbling white head. Fruity yeasty aroma along with alchohol and dusty hops. Refined belgian blone flavors along with the champagne notes creating a refreshing and interesting drink. Todeon (315), Sweden Sep 17, 2008 Bottle @ EBF Hzy orange/yellow color with a yeasty and spicey aroma. Taste was citrusdominated with lots of sweet notes. Complex. stouby (1932), Holbaek, Denmark Sep 14, 2008 Bottle at EBF 2008.
Hazy, light yellow with a white head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, fruity), light hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter. Complex. Full body, sparkling. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottle, courtesy Andy. Pours a cloudy yellow straw, very creamy silky white head, tons of smooth sticky lacing. Nose of nice Belgian yeast, spices, some zest, straw and wheat, strong ripe fruit and a little citrus in the end. Flavors of sweet fruit, citrus, some sticky malts, dry wheat, spicy finish. Full, spicy body, crisp and drinkable, tasty. Enjoyed it a lot. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Aug 30, 2008 RBSG 2008. Pours deep hazy gold with a tall fluffy white head. Dry and citrusy nose. Surprisingly a nice hop character comes through in the finish. Hints of apple and citrus throughout the flavor. Nice and very dry.
