janubio (126), Spain Dec 29, 2007 750 ml corked bottle. It pours a yellow opaque cloudy colour, with an enormous head that leaves a very nice lace. Aroma of fruits, flowers, citrus, cloves, peaches, sherry wine. Silky, delicate palate. Very dense body, you can almost chew it. Mouth of fruits, champagne, apricot, wood (cask conditioned?), some bitterness at first, but there’s a sweet counter point, ginger, apples...
This is just another Malheur work of art. henrikb (1129), Aarhus, Denmark Dec 2, 2007 2005 - Clear golden-golden body with lots of sparkle and a huge lasting white head; Beautiful deep very Belgium nose, dense rye bread malty with a green fruity touch; Big carbonation in a super balanced bitter sweet body, big, complex and elegant; Long finish with a slight spicy alcohol touch, lots of aroma: nutty, malty, spicy. Malheur uuuuhhhmmmmm! ekstedt (1958), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 4, 2008 From a 75 cl bottle at Zythos Beer Festival 2008. Shady deep golden with a small white head. Tropical fruits, floral hops, butterscotch, and some yeasty notes in an enchanting combination. Medium bodied with soft, yet lively, carbonation. Very well balanced, starts off sweet, ends with a lingering soft bitterness. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 31, 2007 75 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head. Lovely champagne like carbonation bobbles. Aroma is rather winegrape fruity with a mild esteric and sweet note. Flavour holds a complex mix of malt, grapes and belgian yeast. The malt flavours lend towards almond notes, grapes provide a lovely fruity yet slight easteric note and the yeast gives a complex subdued spice note. Lingers with almond notes into the finish. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 25, 2007 Bottle@Quinns. I was kind of guessing that this beer would be a bit of a dissapointment, but thankfully i was wrong. This was quite full bodied fairly yeasty, but not overly sweet, sticky or alcoholic. This has some nice florla wild flower aromas and the a palate was slightly juicy and slight sour bitter. The flavour seems to last a while, and there is some lovely fresh citrus and some nice hops in the finish. I was quite impressed.
