   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
Foffern (1070) - Bodø, NORWAY - NOV 19, 2011
Pale straw yellow, hazy. Frothy head which gets very small fast. Aromas of yeast, citrus, honey, and hint of alcohol. Mild hop flavour and sweet grain. Hints of warming alcohol in the back. Medium bitterness with a medium duration. Much carbo. Slick and watery, medium body. A very fresh and well balanced classic belgian strong pale ale.

larsga (5967) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 25, 2011
Big coarseish head makes a hissing sound. Clear yellow body with lots of little particle and strong carbonation. Light barnyard and apple aroma with faint grape and wood notes. Dry-sweet barnyard and apple taste with grape and spice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, delicate mouthfeel. Dryish spicy grape aftertaste with wooden herbal notes and faint soft metal. Nice and highly drinkable. Very delicate and could perhaps use a bit more character. Alcohol very well hidden. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

lusikka (5376) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 30, 2011
750 ml bottle. BBE 01.08.2012.
Goes boom when opened. Pours a light yellow colour with a white head. Aroma of orange, ripe sweet fruits and alcohol. Flavour of somewhat sour orange, ripe sweet fruits, grapes, alcohol and surprisingly strong hops. Full bodied, dry mouthfeel with a long, warming and quite rich finish with fruits. Alcohol comes through too much. Still rather enjoyable.

MPA (779) - Amager (form. Nørrebro&Aalborg), DENMARK - JUL 31, 2011
Bottle (from the november 2005 RB-tasting at Dixens place - notes have been damaged by flooding of my basement, but this was such an insane tasting for me as I was new to such massive tastings, so I gave up on the detailed notes quite early). Acidic - can’t read anything else...

Light lemony aroma. Chalky blonde in color with a strong white head. Sweet, but lighter and lemony. Refreshing, a great summer beer. Notes: Bottle at Zythos ’11

ClubGonzo (3526) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 15, 2011
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen, shared @ tasting with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew feat. Foffern, StoreMy and the local media! :-) Slightly hazy golden body, small white head. Nose is straw, honey, hints of yeast and floral tones. Taste is champagne-meady sweet honey tones with yeast, candy sugars, grapes and hints of alcohol. Smooth and elegant in composition and balance. Kinda like a champagne-infused mead, with fizz and all. I really dug this one.

Koelschtrinker (9998) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 11, 2011
ZBF 2007 Fast neutraler Geruch, etwas hopfig, minimal malzig. Leicht herb und überraschend mild ist das Bier. Später wird es herber, leider auch alkoholisch. Das leicht hhopfige Aroma bildet den Abschluss eines etwas langweiligen Bieres. Test vom 4.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,8,8,-,8 - 8,00

Swaroga (1113) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 18, 2011
15cl bottle sample @ Kerstbierfestival ’11, Essen. Very classy, champagne like bottle. Clear yellow with no head. Nose : Fruity apple and pear. little bread malts. Sip : wine like texture with small carbonation. Fruity with dry feeling. Little sour. Happy to try it but ain’t going to buy the bottle.

Bright, light yellow colour. Sweet aroma. Well balanced flavour, a little sweetness, a little spiciness (clove).

750ml bottle (Helsinki Beer Festival 2011) - shared by (poirotti) Frank - a thousand thanks Frank!
6+ Light and fruity aroma. Gentle, but still most pleasing.
4 Hazy ornage, very large tight persistent head.
7+ Choc full of light grains, all so soft and subtle.
4 Mellow palate, pleasant carbonation. So smooth, no sharpness. Finish, again, just loads of mellow light grains.
15 I’m not normally a fan of these more champagne-styled beers, but this is done perfectly for the style. One of the mellowest full-flavoured belgian ales I’ve had. Great one.
