thi beer has everything going for it. It's hard to get(even in Belgium)lovely presentation(bottle and glasses) and when your poor it and start nosing it, al kind of flavour rise into your brain. Raisin's, nutts, vanilla, smokeyness, chocolatecouverture and so on. It's to be served very cold as I'm told, and that will keep the the bubbles into shape. The palate is dry, with all the earlier mentioned aroma's present. It's makes me passionate of this beer. In the aftertaste the smokeybitterness of dark chocolate and light tannines of wood. The best beer i had so far.

Wysmienite i znakomite pwo. Finisz gleboko wytrawny. Piana nie do zachamowania. Wystarczy ciut wlac a tu juz mamy 10 cm piany w koloze zolto-brazowym. Odcien czerwono broazowy piwa i wrazenie jakby sie pilo szampana wytrawnego i ciemnego. Na wielki plus zasluguje ukryty alkohol, ktorego mocny woltaz wogole nie odczuwamy podczas picia. Bardzo polecam.

Bottle 2 years past its "drink by" date. Beautiful orange-brown color with lots of champagne-like bubbles and a fine, thin, head. Hugely fragrant--filled the room--with dried fruits, plums, caramel, spice. Great. Amazingly rich, chewy flavor of dried raisins and figs, fresh plums, minerals, spicy, with a touch of sour and big alcohol to balance (plus a touch of hops). Super chewy, bubbly, and rich yet somehow light bodied. Simply wonderful. One of the best I’ve had--going straight out to get a fresh one to see how it compares.

Bottle. Aroma has a lot in it, malts (chocolate, toffee), spices (pepper ea), some dark fruits and vanilla. Cloudy, brown coloured with a lasting, medium brown head. Taste is sweet, malty (toffee, chocolate), roasted, some vanilla in it, some fruits, creamy. Sherry-like taste. Very decent bitterness in the finish combined with a complex spicy (peppery) taste. Quite dry with a decent body. Magnificent brew.

Skortila shared this bottle with me and another friend, and i’m so glad he did! Cloudy brown color, medium brown head. Aroma is exceptionally good, strong black and roasted malt, but also soft notes with vanilla and toffee. White wine, sherry. Taste is full bodied with malty and fruity tones. The brut yeast makes the beer quite dry. Alcohol burn is only slightly present, but it suits the beer perfectly. A newcomer in my personal top10!

The beer pours a clear brown amber with a thick light brown head. The nose is a great mix a burnt sugar and dark fruit, mainly raisins and plums. The taste is great I get raisins plums, dark stone fruit, and wood. The beer is very lively on the tongue with a dry hoppy finish. I would call this a great beer and worth the money.

0,75 l bottle. Deep ruby body with a discreet but delicious creamy tan head. Fantastic complex aroma with a lot of spicies like vanilla, coriander and clove, the finest belgian top-fermentation yeasts, some toasted malt, light fruity character. Smooth mouthfeel, fine balanced body with toasty caramel malt, fine fruity tastes, vanilla and honey character, well balanced easy hops. Well hidden high percentage of alcohol. You can not feel it.... Complex palate and aftertaste.. The beer is underrated here, one of the best beers what i’ve ever tried!

15 cl. tasting glass @ Bierpassie Weekend XIII // last Malheur Champagne beer to try, last Belgian Champagne beer (?) // been wanting this one for a while but not really willing to shelf out the prices that this commands especially being let down by Champagne beer before, like always // actually tried getting this @ zbf 12 but got Bière Brut instead // dark brown with a tanned head // wow, smells really yummy, oodles of dark fruits mixed with thick syrup, touch molasses, brown sugar, chocolate fudge, malt, touch spices & chunk of wonderful yeast (Champagne presumably but feels Belgian) // taste is sweet, nuts, chocolate fudge, lots of dark fruits, syrupy, berries, lots of that yeast, touch molasses, brown sugar, malts, touch liquorish, yeast almost sticking out, , thick, small hint of fruity, berries in the back & spices, warming finish // creamy, chunky chocolate, yeast influencing body to touch chunkiness // wow, this is really, really good, didn’t expect much from Champagne beers, Malheur etc. but this was really a treat

75cl bottled from Beers Of Europe, shared with Steve. Dark brown body with a tiny head. A fruity, malty and nutty aroma. This beer seemed to drink in layers as the palate started to identify and sort out all the many and varied flavours.A malty plum and fig taste first off.Next sip and chocolate appears. Then various berries and chocolate fudge.Another couple of sips and licquorice is in there somewhere with yeast and spices.Plum, fig and blackberry aromas now in aroma and taste.More malt and chocolate.Full bodied but not quite syrupy. This beer is expensive but we are really glad we sampled this one(especially half a bottle each).Considering the Champagne-type bottle it was different to what i was expecting, for the better. This beer is a real treat.I have another in the cellar for Christmas 2013 or 2014 if my willpower holds.
