ivory white stable head that disappears with foam head and structured lacing. dark clear blonde. aroma is yeast, spices like coriander, slight alcoholic and a bit sweet. very alcoholic taste, can’t pick up anything else really with a alcoholic finish, warm, pepper. warm mouthfeel from the alcohol, medium body and carbonation. meh, not a big fan of these champagne beers, but their dark series are better imho. bottle 75 cl / best before 1-6-2014

(Rating #5403)

Honey and sweet hops aroma. Some citrus. Decent head, lasts a while. Bread and mild hop flavour. Velvety texture with tiny sparkling bubbles.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy yellow color ale with a gigantic foamy head with perfect retention and some excellent lacing. Aroma of sweet malt notes with light warming alcohol with some dry floral hops notes. Taste is also dominated by sweet alcohol notes with some warming alcohol notes and some dry alcohol notes with light herbal notes. Body is quite full with super great carbonation and light warming alcohol notes. I was expecting a bit more from the dry hopping but still quite the experience.

My Bottom Line :
Bread crusts wallow atop herbal hops and alcohol heat, while citrusy angles and high effervescence lighten the flavor profile.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam settles atop the misty golden.
-The body is rich, much richer than expected. Sugar flavors are also unrefined.
-This lacks the elegance of their other ’champenoise method’ creations.
-Not bad, but definitely overpriced for this medium-tier quality. Their ’regular’ Brut is so much more polished a product.

Bottle @ Dean’s Birthday tasting, courtesy of deanso. Pours a clear golden beer with a bubbly, soapy white head on top. Aroma has champagne yeasts present, as well as some typical Belgian breadiness. Flavour has a lot of vineous character, basically lots of champagne influences. Well crafted beer but not very interesting in my book. Decent.

Amber with a soapy, white, lasting, lacy head. Smells a bit off with lemon, peach and banana chips. Yeast? Medium frothy, oily body. Super dry. I don’t really like champaign yeast. Sour lemon with a bit of bile. Glue. I just can’t drink it.

Bottle at Dean’s Birthday Tasting, August 2013. Poured a clear light straw with a thin broken white head. The aroma is weak malt and yeast. The flavour is medium bitter, with some dry malt on the smooth alcoholic palate. A decent beer to taste but I would not buy another.
