Blond with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are floral, citrusy and a bit soapy. Surprisingly strong!

Bottle (75cl) from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at mum’s, Worcester, Friday 6th May 2016 Pours gold edging towards amber/orange with a large off white big frothy head. Fresh, clean nose some herbs, a little zesty and then yeasty. Plenty of spiciness in the mouth, fruity with a soft mouthfeel. It is hoppy and there is a bitterness but amazed at the 60 IBU, I think that the typical Belgian yeast elements have all but swamped many of the typical IPA characteristics. I like this, Malheur make some great beers and this is a worthy addition to their selection but unlike Troubadour or Dochthor De Korenaar the need to work on IPAs a little longer. Malheur Zestig Ap: 4 P: 3 T: 6 A: 6 O: 11 750ml bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Mostly hazy golden color. Thin white head. Leaves good ridges of lace. Bready, cake-like malt. Kind of spicy and peppery. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, lighter to moderate bitter, mild spicy bite. Light to moderate carbonation. Light, kind of crisp carbonation. More dry. OK tripel. Not great for me though. Kind of malty, overly dry.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy amber color with an average white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex yeast, fruit and small alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium complex sweet flavor with medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good beer.

750 ml bottle shared with Tmoney99 and wihorock. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a medium sized off white head that lasts. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, honey, some Belgian yeast, mild spices, a nice general fruity character, with light floral notes and mild bitterness to the finish. No sign of the abv. Better than I expected it would be, still it’s a tripel and they aren’t my favorite.

Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, showing a cloudy, orangey gold color, with a frothy layer of white head foam that reduced to a persistent, bubbly ring and film, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was peach, with a bit of citrus & peel, smooth malt, light spice, and some sweetness. Medium+ bodied with lively carbonation that conveyed a rather hot booziness combined with a lingering, earthy & rind-like astringency, tempered thankfully by some sweetness to the finish. A bit of a rough finale.
