Bottle from Taylors Market, Sacramento. Pours near black with an attractive tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is a medium-bodied chocolate and treacle flavor with some coffee and a dry smoky finish.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of oats, light roast, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour brings out oats, metallic notes, and light roast. Quite full-flavoured, if not a bit thin on the mouthfeel. Solid stuff.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2014 Re-rate 2/12: Bottle sample at a Stouts & Porters blind tasting at Sar HaMashkaot Ramat Gan. Black with a light brown head. Acidic vegetal and fruity aroma with a bit of roastiness. Acidic-sweetish fruity flavor with a bit of roastiness and a bit of chocolate. Light to medium-bodied. Infected. 4/4/4/3/8=2.3

Re-rate 12/8/10: Draught sample at the brewery in Yehiam. Roasty and coffee-ish. Aroma suggests something was a bit off with the fermentation (maybe the beer’s too young?). 5/4/7/3/12=3.1

Bottle. Black-colored with a huge, slowly-diminishing brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee, a bit of fruits and some acidic malt notes. Bittersweet roasty flavor with chocolate, coffee and some fruitiness. Finishes bitter with some herbal and smoky touches. Silky mouthfeel. Not bad. 6/4/7/4/13=3.4

Draft @ brewpub. Opaque black with tan head, which fades to flat. Loveliest looking of the bunch. The aroma is Nescafe. Appealingly acidic, although syrupy. Soft, low carbonation. Aromas also include tree seeds and nuts. Some acidic coffee and chocolate persist in the flavors. Not great but drinkable.

Bottled on 16.7.2013. Nose of heavy coffee and rich dark chocolate, occasionally fruity bursts of plum, a smooth and sultry appetizer! Pours deep dark brown-black with a dark brown head. Taste very, very dry, some light burned notes under waves of lovely, gentle dark roast; there’s some chocolate and medium-heavy coffee, but the whole thing is utterly velveteen and huggable. Low bitterness, clean, soft full body with low carbonation. This is the best of their three I’ve had, by far.

Bottle, thanks Eddan. Black with a small browniish head. Thin and vapid with some light roasted malt, chocolate and syrup. Nothing to write home about.
