3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled July 16, 2013 (2.5 months old).
Appearance: Pitch black body with a tall and viscous brown head. The head has good retention and settles into a frothy full coating.
Aroma: The aroma has a coffee and cocoa presence, it leans dry, but is fragrant and enjoyable.
Taste: The flavor is a bit muddy, but there’s certainly a roasted coffee and chocolate presence with an earthiness about it. The finish is rather quick and semi-dry.
Palate: Creamy and soft, rather thick.
Overall: I really want to like this, I am impressed that there are people in Israel brewing stouts and other beer. There’s nothing ambitious about this, it’s a cut and dry stout, and a decent one at that. This is pricey, but it’s from Israel, it’s had to travel quite a way.

Bottle to tulip
Lots of malt, coffee, and chocolate aromas. It’s black with a creamy 1/2 cm tan to brown head. Taste is all that the aroma hinted at but a bit watery and a kind of a wheaty after-taste.

Ar: Sharp roasted malt, char - some burnt coffee, and cocoa powder.
Ap: Dark brown, opaque - small mocha head with medium-low retention - leaves a thing ring of foam with a film of bubbles.
T: Lots of charcoal and burnt coffee up front, and semi-sweet - medium-high bitterness with a herbal note - cocoa powder and coffee on the finish.
P: Medium body with high carbonation - finish is dry.
O: Tasty dry Irish stout - very true to style, bold and sharply roasty without becoming acrid, and a firm bitterness.
