Bottled on 16.7.2013. Nose of heavy coffee and rich dark chocolate, occasionally fruity bursts of plum, a smooth and sultry appetizer! Pours deep dark brown-black with a dark brown head. Taste very, very dry, some light burned notes under waves of lovely, gentle dark roast; there’s some chocolate and medium-heavy coffee, but the whole thing is utterly velveteen and huggable. Low bitterness, clean, soft full body with low carbonation. This is the best of their three I’ve had, by far.

330ml bottle pours black in color with a 2 finger light brown head that has decent retention and settles to reveal some decent lacing as well. Aroma is roasted grains and chocolate and hints of coffee. Taste is a roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a dark chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with some light carbonation. A nicely done dry stout with a good balance and surprisingly good.

11.2oz bottle shared by Ed. Ed said he had to blow Santa just to get him to leave this, Santa is his cat..meOWWWWW. Well since I didn’t blow any cats I can rate this with a clear conscience. Poured a medium density pitch black with a smaller begie foamy head. Aroma of sweet dark chocolate, wet burnt toast, soy sauce, dark alcohol dipped cherries, sweet flaovred tobacco. Medium body with lighter carbonation and a quicker fading aftertaste. Flavor is sweet with some dark fruit skins and bad chocolate, burnt malts, burnt toast. a touch of milk also. Solid beer

Draft @ brewpub. Opaque black with tan head, which fades to flat. Loveliest looking of the bunch. The aroma is Nescafe. Appealingly acidic, although syrupy. Soft, low carbonation. Aromas also include tree seeds and nuts. Some acidic coffee and chocolate persist in the flavors. Not great but drinkable.

Bottled @ UDRM. The aroma has light roast, coffee, chocolate. Black coloured beer with an of-white head. The taste is sweet and has a sour hint in it. Mostly dark, roasted malts. Nice.

11.2 oz bottled 8.5 months ago, purchased at Mile High Wine & Spirits. Black appearance with an average brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, dark chocolate and earth. Similar flavor, rich coffee flavor with a moderate roasted bitterness and a dry finish. Light to medium body, a little bit thin, but surprisingly pretty good overall. Pairing: Phish - The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday > Avenu Malkenu > The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, from 06/21/2009

Bottle. Pours a near-black color with a smallish light brown head on there. Nose is dry and roasty, with some sour black licorice notes coming through for me. Taste has a hint of chocolate to it, and is sweeter than I would have expected given its style. Nice roasty finish, too.
