3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. Cloudy amber with a thin head and plenty of sediment. Aroma is floral hops nd citrus. Citrus flavours, heavy hops, intensely bitter and sour at the same time. This perhaps doesn’t leave much chance for subtler flavours to come through, but I really like the flavour. Moderate carbonation - not too gassy like some Mallinson’s bottles I’ve had.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington, 23 Nov 2013) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of grass, citrus and biscuity malt. Fruity, malty taste with citrus, biscuits and a certain grassy, floral bitterness in the finish. Light body, with balanced sweetness. On the thin side and not very complex, but with a fresh and generous hop presence. Quite nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml. Misted orange-gold heaped with rocky foam. Brittle green citrusy aroma with a splash of G+T; nettles and flowers; curry leaf, tropical fruit, mint leaf. Zesty, bitter GA bursting with sap, chlorophyll, pollen and grapefruit. Cracking fresh hop character backed with deep oily, nutty malt. Seriously stewed hop tea notes. No surprises; Mallinsons deliver another beautifully fragrant punch in the face. One of the finest, most consistent, most hop-centric brewers in the UK no question.
