Cask conditioned at The Earl of Essex, Islington, London. Gold with white head. Light, citrusy beer with hints of bitter lemon, zesty, full on flavour with a slightly grainy, malty body. Good stuff.

Cask handpull, The Crown Inn, Stockport and....well, cask handpull, The Crown Inn, Stockport, 02/03/13. Beautiful pale, snow-topped gold. Aroma dragonfruit, lychee, strong cheddar, rabbit fur; tropical and pissy. Biting, clean, limey and very bitter on the finish with a crumb of honey-dabbed biscuit. Soapy and floral. By the pint comes alive with softer rounded tropical notes and toasty malt. One of those beers you just keep coming back to. At brewing this kind of punchy, tropical, hopped-to-f**k golden ale Mallinsons are as good as anyone in the country.
