500ml bottle. Clear pale golden colour with huge (I mean huuuuge), frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and slightly citrusy hop aroma, a touch of dry white wine’s fruit acid. Taste is initially pale malty and grainy, bitter overtones, minimally citrusy, dry grainy finish, lasting minimally soapy bitter hop note; light bodied.

Bottle from Jacks, Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at home, Thursday 20th September 2012 Pours pale gold with large white head. Lovely fruity (citrussy) beer with some pineapple cube sweetness added to the mix. I wasn’t expecting so much after the Lindley Pale of theirs which I’d just had however I think I may even have preferred this beer. Great beer, great brewery. Not sure that I can tell what the hops are but they are very good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Golden with a firm white foam. Aromas are biscuit, yeast and lemon with hints of pineapple and grapefruit. Floral and spicy with a light nuttiness. Flavours are dry biscuit malts with bitter lemon. Spicy and dry to finish. Simple yet effective.

Bottle at home. Gushed out of the bottle, murky yellow amber, thick bubbly white head. Nose is grassy hop, slight malt, and surprisingly a bit of lambic sourness?! Not sure if it’s meant to be there or not. Fizzy, tangy hop front, hint of bready malts, peppery dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle at home, bit of a gusher which was a surprise and I would think unusual. Nice, deep golden haze and, once the foam subsided, pleasant lacing. From the nose, the beer may be a bit old (didn’t specify on the bottle) as it seemed a little sour and tangy, almost lambic-like. Fine bubbled carbonation in the mouth. Tastes a bit tangy as well, but I’m not complaining! Touch of marmalade as well in there. If it’s meant to be like this, great, if not, I recommend ageing it for a bit!
