Bottle. Hazy golden brown with an off white foam. Aromas are biscuit with leafy and mineral notes. Hints of mint with lime and orange. Yeasty with traces of sulphur. Woody with peppery notes. Flavours are grapefruit and bitter lemon with very dry biscuit and pithy lime rind. Low pine with white grape and a yeasty, bitter finish. Good.

500ml. Pours with immense white head. Gold, clear. ar: minimal. ta: medium sweetness and bitterness. pa: lengthy mouthfeel from hop. ov: a good beer. Excellent appearance. The hop is not too dissimilar from english hops.

500ml bottle. Pours hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma is zesty and slightly earthy. Flavours of cereal, sharp citrus, tropical fruit, a touch of honey and a hint of pine all finished off with a robust grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied, carbonation is light to moderate and fine. Mouthfeel is slick if not oily. Very nice.

I like single hops, bunny hops and hip-hop. I like hardcore dub punk hop as well. So will you one day soon. This was a charming little number, bitter and fruity. The 3.7 tells the story.

Cask at Cross Scythes, Sheffield. Hazy yellow. White lasting head. Fresh citrusy aroma. A hint of grapefruit. Malt outweighed the hops for me in the taste. Lots of body to it. Possibly a bit tired? Not for me, this one.

500ml bottle from Hippo Beers. Golden yellow colour, reasonable head. Biscuit, resin, tropical fruit & hop aroma. Biscuit hop & citrus fruit flavour. Grapefruit aftertaste. Another great big tasting lowish alcohol beer from Mallinson’s.

Euston Tap. Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Palate starts smooth but has a carbonated sting. Minerals. Fresh orange zest and yellow grapefruit flesh. Under this citric sharpness is a trace of sweet tangerine and tropical fruits. Finishes crisp and dry with orange peel and grapefruit bitter linger. Only a trace of the Mallinsons soap here. One of the better ones.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2013 1) Cask gravity, Nottingham BF 2012, 12/10/12. Firm-bodied, fine-headed pale gold. Nose: chick pea, lemon, shrub. Good grapefruit and lemon zest hop; grass, perfume, stinging bitterness. Lean and biting. More goodness from Mallinsons. 2) Bottle, Beer Gonzo. Orange-bronze with a slender fine- lacing foam. Marmalade, wine gum and dense grassy aroma with green herb and orange liqueur hints. Big earthy monkey nut base overlaid with chunky crystallised orange peel bittersweetness; cordial hints, grass and pine. Bitter but also mousse-like and honeyed. Soapy lavender-like and shrubby finish. Not quite as rounded and satisfying as the Amarillo but still bloody good. 848415.
