3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival on 28 April 2011. Straw coloured. Another pale, hoppy number from Mallinsons, and well up to standard. Not sure what the hops are but this one seemed slightly more citrus oriented - more lemon than grapefruit here - than the Mallinsons Simcoe which I drunk alongside it. Plenty of bite on the finish - perhaps more tart than bitter. Very refreshing. I marginally preferred the Simcoe, which had more layers of flavour, though.
