RobinV (37) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2012 Pours clear, dark brown/copper. Strong foamy head disappears quickly. Smells mostly of ripe fruits, but there’s a slight alcohol/phenol aroma to it. Tastes very sweet at first, but ends with a nasty, slightly oily bitter finish. Not a bad beer, but nothing very special.

330 ml bottle via BelgianShop. Pours a dark brown with full creamy head. Malt, spice, and licorice to the nose. Toasted malt, raisens, and spice to taste. A little sour. A good beer.

Bierkrug (1919) - Idar-Oberstein (In Iraq), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - MAY 9, 2011
330 ml bottle at home in Germany from shrubber85. Pours a dark mahogany with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, plums, and chocolate. Flavor of fruit, chocolate, and malt. Palate swings you around to a strange dry bitterness that lingers.

Dark brown colour with a slowly collapsing head. Aroma is sweet caramel. Sweet malty and slight breadish flavour with a light fruity and honey like note. Smooth and nice palate.

Countbeer (2853) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - NOV 10, 2010
Bottle: Had this one ages ago. Remember it had a small off white foamy head. Beer is cloudy dark brown colored. Smell malts, caramel, sweets and some hints of fruit and yeast. Taste is pretty sweet: malts, caramel, yeast, spices, some hints of fruit and brown sugars.

Bottle (33 cl) from Etre Gourmet. Hazy reddish brown, small beige head. Boring sugary malt aroma, dusty hops, some ash tray notes. Dry with low bitterness. Dull.

Pours a darkish red/brown. Aromas of spice, coriander, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor has an alcohol taste to it, mixed with a nice smokey dark fruit. Also has strong hints of spice and orange.

Bottle at Scotch Inn, Malmedy. Very dark brown, almost black. Thin off-white head, scant lacing. Aroma of caramel and cigarettes (in a smoky bar!). Taste was sweet, syrupy caramel and not much else. Boring.

Pours a dark brown color with a nice beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, brown sugars and spices. Flavors of strong roasted malts and liquorice, dark fruits and caramel, with spices. Good carbonation, little sweet and good bitter dry, with a creamy finish. Reminds me of some stouts. Very pleasant flavor and testure for a winter brew.
