Malmgård Blond Ale is light coloured and fruity beer. Its soft and appealing body stems from Malmgård’s organic wheats, Finnish malts and the spring water for its own well. The distinctive fruitiness is achieved by using four different hops and a Belgian yeast, resulting in a real thirst duster. It is available in bottles and on tap in selected shops, bars and restaurants all over Finland. It is also possible to visit the brewery and buy Malmgård Dinkel on site. In the near future Malmgård Blond Ale will also be available in Estonia.

Golden body, white head. Aroma has belgian yeast and some light citrussy hoppiness. Flavour is very subtle and leans quite much to the fruity hoppiness.

50cl bottle. Pours golden with diminishing white head. Yeasty, malty. Some citrus. Light sweetness, medium bitterness. Not that memorable, but no clear weaknesses either.

Not one of their more interesting beers. It’s a bit weak in personality. And too expensive. I guess I can find some fruitiness in it if I’m imaginative.

Hyvää on, ehkä hieman (liian) simamainen maku, mutta jos olisin juonut kylmemmän kuumempana päivänä niin ’95.

En god blond ale der har det hele lige på nær den belgiske gærsmag. Fin lys i det.

Bottle shared at home. Thanks to Brandman for the Euro local swap. Almost clear golden with small white head. Light spicy yeast, a bit of citrus, dried apricot, surprising amount of malts for the ABV, there’s caramel, crystal malts, a hint of honey, fresh baked baguette crust. Herbal hops with a touch of basil and oregano. Light sweet and bitter. Over light bodied. Very drinkable and still has a lot of taste. Surprisingly nice.

500ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish golden colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of lemeon, lemongrass, lime, herbal yeasty spiciness, honey pollen (if this imitation is allowed). Taste is minimally sweet, minimally grainy, pale malty with cautious hints of honey, minimally tangy, dry, citrusy and minimally grassy hoppy, slightly yeasty, hints of hay. Moderately complex, nicely balanced, kind of sessionable Belgian Ale.
