(Draught at Villi Wäinö, Helsinki) Based on the brown colour and cloudiness I expected this beer to be quite malty and sweet. I was surprised to find out that the aroma was really fruity. Malts weren’t missing from the aroma but fruitiness was stronger. There was some berriness, too. Flavour was quite malty and sweet. Hop flavour and aroma were quite low but bitterness was stronger. Concluision: really fruity, bit over sweet, unbalanced and somewhat harsh brew. Drinkability wasn’t good. Malmgård hasn’t done many Belgian style beers so far. It’s really nice that they’re trying new styles.

Draught @ Villi Wäinö, Helsinki. Originally rated on 7.10.2010. Okay, quite spicy and malty Belgan style ale.

red to brown body, no head. Aroma had fruits and malt and very nice belgian yeast notes. Maybe too much on the sweet side. Flavor was definitely too sweet for my taste. Some bitterness were to balance, but not enough.

Keg (Ville Waino, Helsinki)
6 yeasty and sweet grainy aroma.
4 deep red, small ring head
5 Some alcohol in the bitterness, nettles too, and a stodgy malt body
3 Sharp carbonation, sweet sugary palate. Spicy finish, some cardamom and clove.
11 I normally love Malmgaard beers, so was disappointed by this. Neither Belgian style from them did it for me, while their English ales are superb.
