COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
MALMGÅRDIN PROTO – ERIKOISHANAOLUIDEN SARJA Tänä vuonna (2013) julkaisemme kolmen erikoishanaoluen sarjan valituissa olutravintoloissa. Ravintolat ovat tehneet kanssamme pitkään tiivistä yhteistyötä. Erikoisoluita valmistetaan rajallinen erä näitä valittuja olutravintoloita varten. Sarjan ensimmäinen olut PROTO#1 on 5,3% pale ale -tyyppinen olut. Tankkiin on lisätty kahta eri humalalajiketta (Cascade ja Centennial) antamaan tuotteelle erityistä luonnetta.

Erikoiserä Malmgård panimon pale alea. Kauniin keltainen väri, tuoksussa sitruunaisuutta, vaahtoaa kohtuudella. Voimakas, mutta monipuolinen maku. Miellyttävä jälkimaku. Humaluutta varsin paljon, mikä osin selittyneekin kolmella käytetyllä humalalajikkeella.

Tap @Tuulensuu
Amber-golden color, good beige head. Fruity, slightly resiny hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Pale malty, slightly fruity backbone. Finish has good resiny-bready bitterness and some grapefruit. I prefer citrus over resin but wellbrewed APA from Malmgård.

Hazy amber colour with a tiny white head. Fruity and balanced hoppy aroma. The flavour is resiny and piney hoppy with moderate bitterness and some dryish maltiness. Bitterness in the aftertaste.

Quite nice pale ale, maybe a bit thin body due to striking bitterness. Nice floral aroma.

Tap @ Kaisla, Helsinki 01/04/13. Pours a hale amber with a small, white head. Aroma is hops: Mostly grapefruit. Taste is grapefruit and lemon, peel of both as well, more lemon peel than grapefruit. Some biscuity maltiness. A bit thin, somewhat green with the hops. Fresh. A bit light with quite a bit of carbonation.

Tap (Villi Waino, Helsinki)
Initially an aggressively hoppy aroma - very fresh hops. Came over like it was a single hop - just trying to show off a hop, and that’s all. Citrussyness told me it might be post-flame-off fuggles, but apparently it’s its and even more AA-ey offspring. Orange, in colour, sticky keggy head. Retronasals resiny and bizarrely fishy. Finish has crystal-malt-like porridgyness. Palate-wrecking fetilised female hop bitterness in the taste. Fresh and extremely resiny. After a few sips it’s mellower. But still a bit harsh. Burps wonderfully. Well-crafted, but too experimental for me.
