Rich roasty aroma - sugary caramel. A bit dull in the mouth. Caramel smothers the hops. It doesn’t feel over 7% when in the mouth just drinking normally, as the sugars have cmothered the alcohol too, but if you breathe over the beer the alcohol does come out quite clearly. Nowhere near as good as their plain Beerson IPA.

Medium carbonated. Dry with some bitterness. I would like some more fruit in smell and taste. I nice DIPA.

Ar: resin, floral, grapefruit, citrus, pineapple, toffee, fruit candy, alcohol.
Ap: copper colour, medium off-White head, lacing.
T: low bite for the style, grapefruit and resin, very one-dimensional, toffee and alcohol, a few off-flavours.
P: average.
T: this is definately drinkable, but it lacks complexity and has a few skunky notes. But cudos to Malmö brygghus That Tries to make a big beer like this so early in the brewery’s existance.

Flaska till "tulpan" på Ölkompaniet. Ser så lovande ut. Mörk, någonstans mellan amber och rödbrun. Ordentligt malitig men sen kommer en viss besvikelse. Inte mycket hunmle, varken frukt eller något annat, och ganska kort eftersmak med måttlig beska. DIPA är min normala favorit så jag kanske har för höga krav på Malmö?

Pours dark copper with some yeast. Off-white head. Aroma of fruits and hops. Taste is bitter with citrus fruits. Its dry with a long bitter finish. I like it.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 28 Sep 2012) Dark amber colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with toffee, caramel and a slightly herbal touch of nettles(?). Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, toffee, a touch of black-currant, citrus and a generous bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Nice one.

Bottled@SBWF2012. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, raisins, alcohol and some fruity and floral notes. Flavour is caramel, toffee and some mild yeast and herbs as well.

Bottle from Systembolaget, Hansacompagniet. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich malt, flowers, hops, caramel and notes of licorice and fruits.

Tap @ SBWF 2012. Hazy copper color. Roasted, hops, mild perfume in aroma. Caramel, sugars, hops, malty flavor. I wouldn’t say it’s 7.9%. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Amber beer with an offwfite head. Hoppy aroma, roasted, grass, metal, hay, some floral notes. Sharp bitter flavor, floral, metal notes, hay, bread, some fruity notes.
