Hazy yellow orange body and small head. Zesty, grainy, spruce a bit. Not quite as refreshing as I hoped. Certainly tasty, but there’s more to making a good wit. (On tap at Les Trois 8, visited with Dan, Jan and Bertanne)

Draft @ the source in Malmö, sampler tray.

In short: A standard slim, refreshing and slightly spicy wibier with plenty of bananas. Decent example of this simple style
How: Tap at Ardbeg Embassy, Stockholm
The look: Cloudy yellow-blond body topped by a medium white head with medium retention
In long: Nose has the expected bananas esters with light spiciness that was coriander and something ginger-ish. Taste has a medium amount of crisp wheat, a mild acidity, young greenish-yellow bananas, mild spiciness (coriander, nutmeg, ginger). Body is thin but not watery. This is inoffensive, refreshing and easy to drink, just like most beers of its style, this is pretty much what I expect from a basic witbier. It deserves a bit better than its current lame ratings, this is good beer but it is not a bad beer either. I was so thirsty for beer in Stockholm that I was thankful to bartenders selling me overpriced ordinary beers like this one, I think I’ve just redefined the Stockholm Syndrome.
