2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 RoundSparrow (16) - Renton, USA - AUG 25, 2005
Review based on several bottles months apart while I lived in Arica, Chile 2004-2005. Very strong beer for Chile, full of flavor body and color. However, the finish of the flavor is sweet and not as good as you want it to be. Despite the name, malt does not seem to be much a factor in the flavor. Not sure what variety it is striving for.

Notes from Sept 09 I believe. Arica, CL. 1L bottle. Poopy malt, sweet, scottish-ish, some nice roasted malt.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 almosi (281) - Vińa del Mar, CHILE - APR 18, 2007
in bottle, 1 lt.,
Dark brown, very frothy. has an abundant enough head, but it is very rapid. In aroma it is with something, very small, of malty. Also there is citrus fruits and smoke. It is light and abrupt, a rather thin body. It has a bitterness in the malty, (sugar burned?), and a bitter with bad finish. His aspect is much better, that what it knows.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 faroeviking (8807) - JAPAN - JAN 23, 2007
Bottle. Morenita Malta 5.3%. Red-brown colour with a short lasting head. Roasty grainy aroma with caramel. chocolate and bitter hops. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts, grains, chocolate and some bitter coffee.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lilith (242) - Santiago, CHILE - APR 28, 2006
Liter bottle Clear and dark mahogany red body. Fastly dimminishing head and a very thin and almost non-existant lacing or film. Very soft aroma with chocolate and coffee hints. Bittersweet taste of roasted grain and coffee with a sweeter aftertaste. Oily texture, flat carbonation, light body.

Re-rating (Apr 18, 2006) :
Well this was a little better than I remembered. This time we drunk a 1 liter bottle 5,3% ABV. Score: 3/3/5/2/8=2.1 Pours a dark mahogany color with red undertones and a medium tan head that shows little retention, diminishing into a small lacing. Aroma is very malty, sweet with cereal, adjuncts and notes of coffee and some alcohol. Very little character. Flavor is bittersweet with a little of dark chocolate, coffee and some undescribable sweet hints. Unfortunately it’s very watery for the style. Timid in the mouth, soft carbonation but it leaves a decent aftertaste after the abrupt finish. Smooth and drinkable but mostly dull.

Re-rating (Aug 10, 2006): Had this on tap. It has a more smokey character with a slightly bolder flavor. The aftertaste is still bad, but the beer is a little better than the bottled version. Current rating is for this version of the beer
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - SEP 7, 2005
So what do you want for about an Aussie 2 bucks a litre? Quality is not really a consideration with this supermercado beer. It is a bit cloying and sticky, a comment that it is not a beer to write home about. Mind you, if I lived in the states........aaaaahh forget it. Another reason why you need to drink the Chliean wine.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 rodolito (162) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 22, 2003
Imbibed in December 2002. Faint hop aroma. Almost looks like Coke with a short lived large bubbled head. Couldn't discern much malt flavor in this watery lager. I suspect they added caramel coloring.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Linc (736) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 26, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2003 On re-rate, not quite so impressive. Dark brownish-red, sweet and not particularly complex. Sugary chocolate flavour is inoffensive but a little one dimensional. It's still easier to drink than most of the local lagers.
