3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 profane (40) - ITALY - APR 15, 2005
Creamy persistent head. Very good tase. Good caramel aroma. Maybe a beer too much outside standards. I think that is an eccentric beer, so I gived a low overall rating.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 malika (36) - SWITZERLAND - APR 14, 2005
Reddish Madeira color. Cherry aroma, cassis (blackcurrant). Very good taste: sweetness and perfumy hop, some fruitness. Not too much bitterness in the palate, but round malt.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2008 2008-12-26, draught at the brewpub, 6-3-6-2-11=28 Cloudy dark chestnut color; small head. Common chocolatey lean beer; with very light ruta aroma and stronger ruta flavor; the ruta leaves a light coffee touch, a bit herbal. Thin final. Not bad, but the ruta is disturbing in a beer.
2005-04-12, bottle, 8-5-8-4-15=40 Dark amber color; beautiful creamy head. Wonderful aroma, explosion of malt and caramel, nuts, spices, light smokeyness, sweet wood. Very good taste, where the malt is almost fruity, and with the similar elements as in the aroma; maybe a bit thin at the end. Excellent!

Chestnut, red highlights; amberish head. Dark chocolate malts nose, sweet, and traces of diacetyl. Dry, sherry-ish taste, with dark malts to the fore, chocolate, leafy, faintly herbal. Slick, well-bodied, notable alcohol-warming. Good experiment, even if I cannot trace its specific components. I want more of those around, beats some established Italian microbrews with a lot of fame. Grazie, Lorenzo.
