Aug 17, 2008 Very interesting beer. Nutty smell and flavor. Dark brown with a very fizzy head--carbonation seems a bit overdone. Chestnut and honey flavors--a bit sweet, smoky. Really enjoyed this one.

Aug 15, 2008 Pours dark amber / brown with a tan head. The aroma has nuts, toasted malt and tobacco - quite dry overall. Medium / thick body that is very smooth with light carbonation. The taste has the aroma traits and is initially dominated by the tobacco traits, then comes some dark nuts, horehound candy and then on the finish some honey comes out. An interesting beer, but I don’t know how much I’d want of it. The recent offerings from Italy have been very intriguing and this goes along with them.

Aug 12, 2008 Pours amber/brown with a tan head. Smells nutty with some notable honey hints. Tastes spicy and very gruit like. Very palatable.

Jul 8, 2008 500 ml. Deep garnet with a one-finger creamy and lasting head. Smoked dark fruit, clove, honey and wheat aromas. Flavors of fig, tart cherry, clove, earth, smoke, cedar, oak, and toffee. Medium-heavy body is a little too fizzy, but nicely balanced between sticky and dry.

Jul 7, 2008 Bottle at JoeMcPhee’s tasting. Deep amber in color with a little head. Nice smokey malty aroma. Toffee notes. Rich smokey caramel sweet flavor. Smokey honey notes. Finish is smokey and sweet. Medium to full bodied. Very interesting. Very drinkable.

Jun 28, 2008 Thanks to PilsnerPeter for sharing this one. Deep amber beer. The aroma is really rich and smoky. Rich and sweet with a softly honeyed maltiness. A little bit fruity and spicy as well. The fruitiness is quite nice, sort of like dark berries. A hint of clove and more sweet chewy smokiness. Rich and toffeeish flavour with a long lingering sweetness. This is a very tasty brew.

Jun 26, 2008 Bottle at Joe’s. Aroma of ginger and chestnut, lemon. Very cloudy pour. Very sweet, a touch of syrup in a good way, nutty spices, maple. Light drinking. Nice stuff.

Jun 25, 2008 Redamber beer with a nice head. Very fruity aroma and taste. The taste reminds me of strawberries.
