Pours caramel brown with no head. Nose is a bit smokey with leather, nuts and earth. The flavor is the same with a dry finish and medium full mouthfeel.

The aroma is actually like a smoke beer with chestnuts, candy sugar, and malt. The appearance is deep amber with a persistent foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. The aftertaste is medicinal. Overall its not too good.

Pours to a dark chestnut colored body with a tall foamy light tan head. The aroma is very mead like and full of honey. Smoke like a rauchmalt. The flavor has a little butter and honey and sweet bready thing going on. Chestnuts are light. The palate is really buttery and medium bodied.

Dark brown "nutty" looking ale with some liveliness, fairly decent white mantle of foam but more acid than sticky overall. Very smokey tasting, surprisingly so from the description, the chestnuts were obviously roasted! Still. intersting and enjoyable small production artisan ale....

Very interesting beer. Nutty smell and flavor. Dark brown with a very fizzy head--carbonation seems a bit overdone. Chestnut and honey flavors--a bit sweet, smoky. Really enjoyed this one.

Pours dark amber / brown with a tan head. The aroma has nuts, toasted malt and tobacco - quite dry overall. Medium / thick body that is very smooth with light carbonation. The taste has the aroma traits and is initially dominated by the tobacco traits, then comes some dark nuts, horehound candy and then on the finish some honey comes out. An interesting beer, but I don’t know how much I’d want of it. The recent offerings from Italy have been very intriguing and this goes along with them.
