first of a long night, and the second chestnut beer i have ever had. notes of alcohol in the nose with a bit of a bbq. the beer is a little thin but the chestnuts flavors adds dimension to the palate. sweet and a bit spicy, the better of the two that i have tried. yet another interesting effort out of italy

This was the first of 34 beers at a tasting at JoeMcphee’s. Set a pretty nice pace to a great evening. Interesting beer, a little hot. Honey, spice, floral flavor with balanced carbonation. Medium body. Darker orange color, light minimal head.

Bottle: Orangey brown pour with a wispy head. Nice smoky aroma. There’s some honey sweetness in the back as well, reminding me of BBQ sauce. Slick mouthfeel, fairly light bodied. Has a very interesting flavor. Herbal character upfront and a solid honey like background. The sweetness is followed by an earthy, mild peat finish filled with smoke. Interesting brew.

Bottle. Tons of smoke and honey in the aroma. Really flavorful with a fuckload of smoke, maybe that’s why I like it so much. Rich smoke in fact. Nice, lively carbonation. The honey is in the finish. Nice stuff!

Smell has chesnuts, honey, sweetness, and malts. Amber like in color small head that disappeats quick. Taste has some alcohol, nuttiness, sweetness, and herbs. Interesting a diffeernt sort of taste.

(50cl bottle) Pours a cloudy brown body with a small creamy beige-grey head. Aroma of roasted chestnuts, spruce, florals, honey, basil, and other various herbal notes. Flavor of roasted chestnuts, honey, light smoke, flaxseed, and caramel malt.

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a light brown/orange color, hard to say amber, has beige head, good retention. Has a citris, pomegranate, and light honey aroma. Flavor has a roasted nutty, citris, and honey taste. Med-full body with medium carbonation. Very nice!

500mL bottle, courtesy of argo0. Dark amber, creamy off white head. Smoked chestnut aromas float on soft honey and wood tones. Toasted chocolate malt and smoke round to a caramel nut finish. Medium bodied, light carbonation, nutty sweet finish. Nice.
