3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Jacob23_5 (112) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 9, 2012
Bottle. Vegetal notes on the nose, with pronounced mocha and cream, with surprisingly roasty characteristics. Lovely flavours of dark coffee and dark chocolate, with a touch of bell pepper and a slightly nutty, toffee finish. Great example of the style, nicely delivered.

Una delle migliori porter italiane, abbastanza impegnativa sia di alcol che di struttura.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 INDASTRIA (129) - Berlin & Rome, GERMANY - JUL 21, 2011
Bottle.
Dark color, white/slightly brown creamy head but almost without lacing. Very massive aroma of cocoa, bitter chocolate, roastiness, molasses and little bit of Soy sauce (i don’t like it usually but in this case it wasn’t an issue). the taste has a dominating bitter chocolate component. with a less present cocoa and roasted coffee characters. anyway the taste is very "robust" and so is the body, the alcohol is totally hidden.
medium/soft carbonation. The finish is very bitter and dry because the malt rather than the hop. I have to say that i had it before and sometimes it showed a different beer, with a not so robust body and taste for example.
But i think it’s really a, very good, robust porter just like the label says
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Christian (8561) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 21, 2010
Black with a small tan head. Aroma of licorice and chocolate with an odd earthy note that reminded me of truffles. Dry flavour with the same notes
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 princesslala (131) - DENMARK - JUL 19, 2010
When I think about a lizard, I don’t think porter. But okay, we’ll make the lizard black...no, still don’t think porter, and definitely not a robust porter. And well, the marketing matches the beer. The beer does pour very dark with a light brown head, and the aroma that is detected after much sniffing is simply sweet and malty. The taste is of a porter, but not as robust as the name would imply, actually it’s quite boring. But in the end, I am finally able to detect the black lizard character, as I am left with the distinct flavor of earth in my mouth.
