In the glass has got an amber/light-brown colour with a good quantity of foam that remains in the time. The smell is sweet but very interesting with malts, caramel, a bit of fruits and herbs. In the palate the body is medium but creamy and so soft. Incredibly drinkable. Starts with sweet notes of caramel and malts, but after some seconds comes the hoppy touch with herbal notes and in the end/aftertaste again hops with a nice bitter and a bit bit bit of roasted flavour. Very good! MF brewery doesen’t wrong a shot!

Clean aroma, caramel. In the mouth, biscuity and more caramel, well balanced by the right hoppy bitterness before it risk to become cloying. Well done, though I still have to focus its character,

Colore ambrato carico, con buona schiuma. Aroma caramelloso e punte erbacee. In bocca invece mi piace parecchio, buon corpo, molto pulita e soddisfacente con una generosa luppolatura che lascia un buon palato. Buona.

Excellent new label with big name and few decorative elements (a caravel, a guard holding a flag..), the main colour of the label and cap is dark orange; this fine ale pours a deep reddish amber, unclear but not hazy, with good creamy beige head. Nose is fruity and rich, with some hops but not dominating; a warm but very drinkable strong ale (7%ABV and unnoticeable), with British inspiration but marked Belgian character given by the yeast (Fausto daringly uses the same yeast in all of his beers, a Belgian kind usually suited for "tripel" ales). In the mouth this is pretty dry and easy going, a bit watery too I’d say, on the whole quite enjoyable but dangerously gulpable down. If you are not careful, last glasses (it’s a 75cl bottle, you cannot escape!) may be a little too yeasty, giving the bizarre contrast a rawer turn. Anyway, this is quite finely brewed even if not their best choice, and I always like to have a bottle in my cellar, as it is very good for pairing with grilled meat (and I find out precisely NOW that the label too suggests this pairing) and meat in general: no surprise this is also bottled and labeled for popular meat-based restaurant Maxelà (now a chain spread all over Italy, but native of Genoa). Long live Maltus Faber. Belin!
