Rich and tempting aroma, floreal, grassy, with a detectable but very light "US hops"citric. In the mouth, the body is adequate; again slightly citric, the finish is dry and bitter and fairly long. Yes quite belgian but with some personality, it is bitter than most blondes yet different for example from a Bink Blond. Almost perfect as the base beer of the range, drinkable and interesting.

75cl bottle @ Brewery. Pours unclear golden with a small egg white head and lacings. Fruity and yeasty aroma. Herby feel and some dry hops in the end. Medium and smooth palate. Tasty!

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Hazy and opaque golden with a white head. Distinct aroma of yeast and banana. Medium body, banana and yeast with a very astringent and bitter finish. 260309

Cloudy deep blond color. Lightly spicy aroma. Medium body, with a strong spicy flavor, probably from the yeast, that gives a light astringency in the end, and strong bitterness. Quite Belgian, between a normal Ale and a Saison.

My Bottom Line:
This freshest of Belgian-style Ales proposes therapeutic citrusy, herbal hoppiness on a bed of straw-like cereals and doughy yeast for an amazingly authentic and excellently executed example of the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam stays atop the cloudy pale blonde.
-The hoppiness is simply beautiful, from nose to flavor profile to finish.
-The hoppy nose seems to become spicier and spicier with time (though it never recalls actual spices; hops are the only culprit).
-The soft but effervescent carbonation teamed up with a healthy mouthfeel provide a very drinkable vehicle.
-This is very nicely attenuated.
-I had the chance to try a few different versions of this (one brewed with pale malt, one slightly stronger and aged 2 years, etc.) and I must say they have chosen the right recipe to become their official "Blonde". From reading my pal Joris’s rating, I get the impression Massimo brought him a different version than the one which will now be their "house blond". You’ll have to try it again, Giorgio. ;)
-If more breweries had a blond ale like this, masses might get to know what good beer is supposed to taste like.

Bottles.
