Bottle at Nate’s Leaving Do, The Kernel. Colour is opaque black, off white head. Nose is touch sour wild yeast, chocolate, coffee, some smokiness. Taste is oily chocolate, black coffee, smoky tobacco, bit earthy, but still a bit of sourness. Is that intentional? Not how I like them.

Bottle shared at The Kernel. Thanks Nate! Pours oily, black-brown with very little head. Some tangy dark malts in the nose. Medium sweet flavor, tangy dark fruits, light tobacco and roast. Medium odied with soft carbonation. Sweet finish, dark and tangy fruits, light roast, dark sugar. Not bad.

Dark brown, black. Aroma of roasted malts, alcol, wine. Flavour of winey stout, sour, roasted malts, coffee. Palate is oiley. Stunning

birra nera con schiuma cappuccino di medio bassa consistenza.Ad occhi chiusi olfattivamente si potrebbe scambiare questa birra tranquillamente con un vino barricato di ottima qualità!in bocca è corposa ed oleosa e conferma le impressioni olfattive con un gusto vinoso e legnoso che domina sul carattere da imperial stout!una volta mandata giu ritorna il gusto di liquirizia originale della versione non barricata!una birra fantastica,il gusto legnoso e acidulo è molto coprente, ma rende questa birra incredibilmente piu leggera e liscia rispetto alla imperial "normale",per ciò non lo reputo un difetto ma una alchimia perfetta!

Another great and particular brew for this top microbrewery! Again a beer of course very similar to the normal Imperial, but with the taste of the ageing, of oak and vinous. Really, a particular imperial stout. I prefer the original version, but this is another "MUST TO TRY" in my opinion. I can’t understand a person that doesn’t like this "imperial". Try and you’ll spend a good hour!

La versione barricata sembra conferire maggiore struttura e complessità aromatiche e gustative, con leggere ma interessanti note legnose. Mi pare meglio riuscita rispetto alla Extra brune barricata

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with woody hints. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with tart woody hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish.

Thanks Gene! Very dark brown, thin cream ring for a head. Nose is heavy roasted malt, light milk chocolate. Flavor is equally sweet, more chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel in the short, roasty finish.
