Take-away from the brewery. Hazy gold with a lacy white head and aromas of peppery hops and candied banana. Crisp and hoppy, again with peppery and buttery fruit notes. Quite full bodied for a pilsner, almost like a cross between Pils and a Weizen.

Tap at the brewpub. It is hazy, yellow-golden with a creamy head. The aroma has malty, but quite sour (like in a starting infection). The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of malt, light butterscotch and refreshing citrus.

Not as good as their Doppelbock. Citrus, hops and sulphury aroma. Hazy orange body with a little layer of head. Medium bitter taste with a strange aftertaste.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pivo (2540) - GERMANY - JAN 23, 2002
This has an interesting cloudy blond color to it,
almost like Hoegaarden, though it is a pilsener.
(I thought part of being called a ’pilsener’ was
that it is clear - why is this a pils then?).
I had this on location only a few meters from
where it was brewed. My sample was smooth and
fresh. Light bodied, this stuff goes down quick.
There is a gritty malt taste followed by
a delightfull hop zing. Maybe not so well-balanced
overall, but a decent brew. Great location in
a neat Northern German town.
