3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 ben4321 (2991) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Location: 16 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/22/13
Aroma: The nose is pretty much exactly what I should have been expecting, there’s a clear marinara sauce/tomato aroma, with some notes of oregano, garlic, pepper, and some bready malts
Appearance: It pours a a hazy golden-orange color with a small, fizzy white head and minimal lace
Flavor: The oregano comes out a bit more, but otherwise, it is basically the same as the nose
Palate: The body is light-medium, it is not at all watery, has a tingly feel, and a spicy finish
Overall Impression:
First off, I’m going to be way high on this one compared to the rest of Ratebeer Nation. I’m always up for a good gimmick, and this one was a good gimmick. Look, if you tell me I’m getting a pizza beer, that’s fine, but I better damn well get a pizza beer. Seriously, this is truly unique. Call me crazy, but I really like what they did here. I could see lots of interesting cooking uses for this one. As far as Pizza quality goes, it’s no Benny Tudino’s, but I’d rather drink this beer then eat Little Caesars any day of the week.
(Also, I finished the entire bottle without ever really feeling that regret you get from drinking more then a sampling of some of the other gimmick beers out there.)
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 jredmond (4014) - Manhattan, New York, USA - JAN 2, 2013
Bottle courtesy of Clockwork, shared with Moreau, Swish & PJ. Pours a light amber body with light white head and some lacing. Aroma is unbeliveable - the pizza comes out perfectly in waves of garlic, oregano, tomatoes, and basil - much like the label suggests. Mouthfeel is light with notes of spice, fruity malts, basil, oregano and tomato. Incredibly unique beer, however drinkability in anything larger than 8oz is questionable.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 kerenmk (1214) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - DEC 28, 2012
Bottle sample at a beerandbeyond speciality beer tasting. Pours murky amber with thin head. Dominant oregano aroma with some garlic. A little watery taste that’s dominated by spices. Light body, pleasing aftertaste, a little hop in the end. Good as liquid pizza but that’s not what I would call beer.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Tonkun (319) - New York, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle. Lemon orange pour with minimal head that leaves a lacing. Tomatoes, garlic, bread, basil, organo. Body is not interesting. Nice carbonation. Slight sweetness. Lighter finish but not offensive. Not exciting but not bad, except the price is too expensive for the quality.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 madvike (2077) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle - Clear golden pour with a thin bubbly white head. Nose is strong tomato sauce with tons of oregano and some garlic. Taste is roughly the same, but with some grainy light lager notes peeking through the pizza. Lots of oregano again, a touch of tomato, and hints of the basil and garlic. Thinnish and well-carbonated with a big fluffy body.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lanchester (175) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 20, 2012
Pours a clear golden hue with a quickly dissipating head. Slightly doughy, tomato notes in the nose...I can certainly pick up on the pizza character, and am intrigued and befuddled. Taste follows in tow with the aroma, not much of the actual beer coming through as it seems to merely act as a support for the pizza flavors; finishes with touches of garlic and basil aromatics. Light and smooth on the palate, I was wary of this beer at first, but can appreciate its experimental nature. A strange idea, although fairly well executed.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 beerandbeyond (452) - ISRAEL - DEC 14, 2012
Bottle sample, wine glass.
Hazy light amber-ish color, minimal head.
Powdered garlic nose, oregano, some bread notes and faint dried tomatoes.
Tastes like pizza seasoning, with soft beer flavors, low bitterness, and quite herbal.
Light bodied and overall watery. Pure gimmick. not a very good beer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheEpeeist (2819) - Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2012
16 oz bottle. A birthday gift from my daughter. Misty yellow brown with white suds. Although the aroma is not quite appetizing, at least for a beer, it does manage to capture the essence of a pizza with dough and tomato sauce. The basil adds floral touches while the oregano provides the spice. Not so sure on the tomato, I try to ignore the garlic. Crisp medium body with a metallic finish. Taste reminds me of V8 watered down with club soda. Garlic, while subtle, is still too much without food.

16oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a thin bit of white head. Aroma is mostly oregano with a little garlic. Smells like "pizza flavored" potato chips. Taste is about the same. Loads of oregano up front with some garlic and cereal grains in the finish. It tastes just like the name says. Pizza turned into beer. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not bad. The only reason I’m giving it this high of a rating is because it is what it says it is.

Aroma of pizza combos. Pours hazy blonde. Tastes of oregeno, yeasty bread and boardwalk pizza. What?
