Modeled on the beers brewed for the long sea voyage from England to India, our India Pale Ale unites a strong malt backbone with a bitter and aromatic finish. 12oz bottle via trade with bu11zeye. Aroma: Light aroma, but smells fresh. Pine, light resin and floral. Touch of caramel. Appearance: Medium amber in color and clear. Off-white head was full and foamy with good retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Some light caramel and cracker flavors up front. Hop flavor is nice, but seems a little low for the style. Pine, citrus, resin, floral, and grass into the finish. Light bitterness. Medium-dry finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: There was nothing wrong with this beer, there just wasn’t enough to it. It was quite drinkable, but was hoping for more.

Bottle: Courtesy of bu11zeye via trade. The aroma is rather light for an IPA. Light to moderate caramel with light citrus hops and a touch of grassiness. It pours a transparent amber and carbonation looks to be at a minimum. There are several large bubbles, but nothing that you could call a head. The flavor starts with moderate caramel and fades to a light grapefruit hops and a touch of grass in the finish. The flavor is definitely closer to an APA than an IPA. The mouthfeel has the right body, but it’s almost completely flat. Maybe a bad bottle carbonation-wise, but I don’t think the flavor is all that much affected. With carbonation, we’re probably talking a .2-.3 difference in the overall rating with added points in appearance and palate.

(Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small white head. Aroma of pine, caramel, and florals. Flavor of sweet malt, light pine, and cream. Seems a bit weak and watered down; more like a pale ale than an IPA.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - DEC 12, 2006
Bottle: Bronze, no head and light lacing. Nose of fresh earthy and lightly piney hops, clean. Caramelly, the flavor is balanced, light sweet, clean hops and malts. Finishes musky. Lightly earthy. Good.

Bottle. Crystal clear copper color with a sizable ivory head. Piney hop aroma with tons of orange, lemon and grapefruit. Very fruity and somewhat diacetyl. The aroma is fantastic though!

This IPA pours a medium amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is piney and citrusy (orange and grapefruit), some caramel. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are piney and grapefruity. More hops in the aroma than in the flavor. Its more of an English style IPA, but still has a nice hop presence. A mild to medium bitter IPA. Malt sweetness is balanced by some nice juicy hops. Very drinkable IPA. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottle. Pours with an orange color. Aroma is dominated by fruit and honey. The flavors are of honeysuckle, orange, honey combined with a malty backbone. The hops hits finally in the finish. So it is not a typical West Coast hop bomb but a bit more balanced. Nonetheless quite good.

This pours a very deep copper/amber body with a dinkus white head. Pleasant aroma of tart oranges, tangerines, and pink grapefruit atop a sweet caramel base. This has a thick mouthfeel. Tastes okay, but somewhat of a disappointment because the aroma promised more hop bitterness. Chewy caramel. The finish is candy sweet with a mild earthy bitterness.

I sampled this brew in Bridgeport Calif. at $10.00 a 6 pack! A good IPA but not great. Good color, and head. Taste of carmel and citrus. Not much in the way of hops. I like a little more body and aftertaste in a IPA and this beer fell a little short but better than the usual.
