2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jarspag (605) - Orange County, California, USA - APR 13, 2007
I remember a long time ago this tasted pretty good. Not any longer. Below avg IPA - light, watery, no kick to it and nothing special. Go there for the mountain, not the beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 thetmaxx (497) - West Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 7, 2011
This was poured from the gift pack I received from the brewery. Aroma is nice, cleanly hopped. Flavor is mildly bitter, but not overly for a regular ipa. Overall its pretty great!
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DeadGirl (473) - La Jolla, California, USA - APR 26, 2010
On draft at Mammoth Brewing Co. (Mammoth Lakes, CA): A solid IPA with forgettable characteristics. Spicy, resiny, grapefruit bitter hops backed up by plenty of malts. Creamy mouthfeel. Drinkability: Borders the line of subpar, but just decent. Pairing: Steak-ums. Rebuy: Perhaps to remind myself of what I just rated. #428 on 26042010, DG.

Got this one via trade with Fordest, thanks Sean! From bottle. Pours a deep amber with thin tan head. Nose is a nice bouquet of floral and citrus hops with caramel malts. Taste follows up nicely with a clean finish. Great drinking IPA.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Zymurgeist2 (451) - Redwood City, California, USA - JAN 2, 2010
On draft at Yosemite National Park.
Nice copper gold color with a small white head that gives way to a ring of foam with a lace middle.
Aroma of cascade hops explode out of the glass. Monster nose with lots of floral scents.
Taste of balanced hop and malt on the initial palate follows through with both loads of bitterness and nice floral flavors.
The mouthfeel is a little disjointed from the jolt of hops on the finish.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 badbeer (434) - Iowa, USA - JUL 7, 2008
Pours a nice, fairly clear, amber color; but with very little head and no lacing. Smell has some nice juicy citrus hops, balanced well with the some sweet caramel from the malt. This one has a very nice aroma to it, but not quite a 4.5 for me. Taste comes off a little more floral, but still retaining an excellent balance of malt and hops. By balance, I mean that hops are dominant, as it is an IPA, but the malt keeps it from being one sided. Less than medium level of carbonation, with a medium body. This is a beer that beginners can love as well as the experienced hophead. I think this would be a staple beer of mine if it were available in my area.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DenverLogan (422) - MileHi, Colorado, USA - AUG 11, 2007
Bottle and on tap in Mammoth Lakes for the Beer and Bluesapalooza fest last weekend. I’m drinking one now and it has a different label and is called Epic IPA. Amber orange, small lingering head. Straw and oily hop aroma, but not too strong. Relatively smooth and easy drinking IPA with slight hop oil resin, citrus, honey and soapy flavors, but nothing too strong or bad. All in all not a big rough IPA but flavorful.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hairofthedog (419) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 5, 2005
I found this beer at Mammoth Liquor. The beer poured a brownish red color w/ orange highlights; slight head and lacing. The aroma was full of grapefruits and pine w/ a slight hint of flowers. The flavor was of light oranges and pine. The mouthfeel was light and carbonated.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Barreras (411) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - APR 3, 2011
Pours an orange color typical of IPA’s. Aroma is floral with hints of citrus possibly tangerine. Taste is a bit on the bitter side with a citrus and floral taste throughout. You can taste the malt and hops in the beer. This beer is for people who like a bitter beer. Overall sub-par in my book but I am not a huge IPA fan in the first place.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 realale420 (399) - west covina, California, USA - AUG 10, 2006
12oz bottle poured clear amber with very little carbonation and almost no head. Aroma has a good citrus and grapefruit hopping with a slightly sweet malt background. Taste is big on hops all around with some nice malt tones and a small alcohol bite. Overall a very enjoyable IPA that fits well among all the other west coast beers.
