COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Modeled on the beers brewed for the long sea voyage from England to India, our India Pale Ale unites a strong malt backbone with a bitter and aromatic finish. Hopped at 2 pounds per barrel with Horizons, Simcoes and Amarillos, our IPA is fully prepared for the long journey from the slopes to the hot tub.

Nice crisp and hazy copper coloured body with almost ruby tints and a nice thin (one centimetre tall) tan head. Aroma of fresh soapy, piney and lightly citrusey hops with a lot of alcohol tucked in, some fresh apricots and a robust large body. Medium-bodied; Assertive citrus and piney hop flavour with a good but understated malt backbone and a quick and large flash of hops up front faded off with some apricots and alcohol, but a relatively mild finish. Aftertaste shows the glimmer of the hops, but no malt, sweetness or alcohol in the finish, just a lingering dryness, which is nice, but not stellar. Overall, a good traditional IPA, nothing too special, but definitely not a let down. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, California on 18-May-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 07-March-2010.

Pours a golden brown with almost no head. Nose and taste are a fairly well balanced blend of citric hops and earthy malts. Not a game changer but quite good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Sold as Tuolumne Meadows IPA in Yosemite Park. Pours clear amber with a medium head that has good staying power and some lacing. Nice hoppy aroma, with citrus taking the fore, backed by pine. Taste is hops dominated with a nice up-front punch of grapefruit, with a citrus/pine body and a lightly bitter finish. Smooth drinking and well crafted. Nice effort.

Arbitrary score 4/5 for Appearance, as nighttime conditions prevented correct assessment. Very orangey hops, bit sweet-smelling. Bit sticky-sweet flavour, again much orange(peel) oriented with bitter resiny components. Kafir lime. Sticky MF too, feels light bodied and oily. Pffff...

From 1 year old archive: Pours a great looking hazy amber with beige head. Aroma is filled with fruity esters with light caramel. Flavor is like malty wort but the hop profile doesn’t seem to be standing out to me but the hoppy bitter does, just kinda taste like a sweet tea.

Enjoyed a six pack or two or this beer last time I was up in Mammoth a few months ago. Pours a clear orange/yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma is pine, a grainy malt backbone, and some bitter hops. Taste was medium bitter hops, pine, perhaps some citrus, and a semi-rough malt finish. Mouthfeel was appropriate for the style with lively carbonation. In as stacked a category as IPA this beer doesn’t have any chance of standing out but I thought it was a nice enough beer.

This brew is a clear orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, malt and citrus fruits. The finish is moderately hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Not exactly "epic’, but not bad either.

Poured into a pint glass. Color is a cloudy amber. Aroma is mild but has floral hops. Flavor is light bready malts at the start and turns into a hoppier finish. Palate is light bodied and has a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall a good IPA.
