An ode to the Owens Valley and the Highway 395 corridor, this Double IPA is distinctly bolder than out Epic IPA and celebrates the aromas of wild local fresh hops, sage, and juniper.

22oz bottle from valley beverage, Sherman oaks, CA. Deep mahogany/amber pour. Head was offwhite, dense, and an inch high. Smells like chocolate, gin, and freshly fried French fries, malty overall. Fairly well balanced flavor, leaning toward malt rather than hops. Caramel malt, bitter pine taste. Not nearly as special as the scent. Finish is sweet and dry, Chardonnay-like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours deep golden with a thin, white head. Juniper berries and sage very dominant in the aroma, almost a bit overwhelming as it masks most other aromas. Nice palate, medium body, quite soft carbonation. Bitter finish, but still quite soft. Flavour is better than aroma, nice balance between bitter pine and sweet caramel with distinct flavour of juniper berry. This is rather bold, and nicely pulled off.

Bottle. Looks like root beer and smells like a soda, too. The juniper and sage dominate over the tops of this otherwise barky brew, herbal and sweet at the same time. Not my cup of tea ... in fact it would be better as tea than beer. (#6316, 9/1/2016)

Bottle from Ales by Mail. Pours hazy dark amber with a big creamy off-white head. Strong piney aroma. Taste is light sweet, with a nice distinct juniper addition, dry piney finsih with oranges and mints at the end.

From a bottle into a Sierra Nevada stem glass. Pours brown with head and lace. Aroma of big juniper, sage, roasty malts and hay. Significant carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of roasty malts, caramel, bitter herbs, gin, sage, molassas, straw hops. Overall big, bold, unique...obviously not for everyone but I enjoy the boldness of malts, hops and the herbs...though I wouldn’t call it an IPA.

IPA biondo-aranciato con un solido cappello di schiuma bianca. Balsamica, freschissima, le erbe aggiunte si sentono moltissimo. Setosa, dissetante.. buona!!

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate off-white head. Very pleasant aroma with noticeable juniper berries and sage along with some citrus and malt. The flavor is more about the malt and hops and less the juniper berries and sage, although they are both still present. A touch of caramel sweetness to the beer as well. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle at Kingsnight tasting. Clear amber with off white head. Lots of herbs, onion, sweat, sour gooseberries, lots of sage. Under medium sweet and light sour. Medium bodied. Way too herbal for me.
