Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown/black with an exceedingly dark 3 finger frothy/creamy tan head. Aroma is super smooth dark chocolate with vanilla notes. Full bodied and creamy. Flavor is a rotating mix of smooth burnt malt, oak, vanilla and something beyond that that seems to be alcohol/bourbon. Itís not dry. But thereís so much flavor that it all works. I am stunned.

Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a large tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is a huge treacle and chocolate flavor with a nice bourbon back taste. Very complex and tasty.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, oak and vanilla and bourbon, chocolate and light coffee, and some light notes of dark fruits. Flavor the same with the roast and oak maybe a hint too harsh, but still enjoyable. Smooth texture. A nice BA imperial stout, but could be a little more refined.

22 ounce bottle purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. The aroma on this is quite pleasant. Lots of sweet, mocha, chocolatey goodness. Some roastiness is also there, and there is some bourbon lurking in the background. The bourbon is not overdone, which makes this an amazingly quaffable beer. Gorgeous jet black body with a large, frothy, strong, dark brown head. One of the most attractive beers I have experienced. Starts with a sweet, lightly dusty cocoa-powder like flavoring. This becomes a bit astringent in the middle, before a little ethanol and then some mild woody and bourbon flavor comes through. Again, the bourbon is a bit restrained. Finishes with a little vanilla, before this becomes dry and roasted late. This is some stellar stuff!

22 oz. bottle. It pours a very dark brown/black color with a dark tan head. The aroma is very chocolaty/fudgy with some toast, graham cracker and roasted malt. The flavor is really nice with mild acidic roast melding nicely with some raisin and plum. The acidity really accentuates the dark fruit character. Burnt toast and roasted malt in the finish. I was shocked that I didnít get much if any bourbon character here. Maybe a hint of oaky dryness, but thatís it. A fun and tasty beer.

Bottle from Deekyn - thanks! Still had the Yosemite bottle deposit sticker on it. Pours opaque black with a medium dark brown creamy head that dissipates with nice lacing. Very nice aroma, bourbon forward, but not overpowering, chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, molasses. Flavor is medium sweet with a good amount of bitterness, very rich, almost decadent with bourbon, chocolate and vanilla taking center stage. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is a nice beer that deserves more recognition.

22 oz bottle thanks to Adam. 2013 vintage. Aroma is and flavor is well integrated bourbon. Nearly has a rye whiskey note, chocolate, dried leaves and semi sweet chocolate.

Body is full with a dry texture. Real mellow nuances of bourbon. Vanilla, oak, cocoa nibs, and some sort of light earthy bitterness. Mild oak that gives a dry texture on the palate. Well hidden ABV. I canít say enough great things about this stout. The depth of flavor is unreal.

1 jan 2014, bottle. Black. Nose is figs, alcohol, burnt toast, sugary molasses. Med body, mildly fizzy, faintly fizzy. Leather and dark chocolate. Sweet finish. Maybe some milk chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Picked this up in nor-cal a few months back. pitch black murky pour, loads of raw cocoa on the nose, just a touch of bourbon but blast of vanilla. Taste is so smooth, creamy really like drinking a mocha latte. So interesting and easy to drink.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 A - pours opaque brown with the darkest brown head Iíve ever seen. No lacing or legs. S - so powerful and rich. Great aromas of bourbon. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, dark chocolate, toffee. Notes of pecan and brown sugar. M - medium bodied, not as rich as Iíd like. Dry and tacky. Simple palate. No carb. T - bourbon up front. Dry oak, toffee, coffee grounds, chocolate on the palate. Dry tacky oak, graham cracker and booze on the end. O - simple, much less rich than I hoped. Good but not great. 4.0 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
