Mammoth Old Charleywine

My bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev & garthicus. Pours a very deep, somewhat murky, reddish-brown with a few floaties and an average size somewhat-lasting beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, lightly roasted along with notes of peat, nuts and chocolate. Malty flavour, sweet and roasty along with peat, nuts and hops. Alcohol’s well hidden. Average bodied. Good stuff, I really enjoyed this.

brown body with a nice light brown head.aroma is super nutty,along with some roasted malts,and grapefruit.flavor is a nice blend of nuts,dark fruits,caramel malts,brown sugar,and pine type hops.alcohol is well hidden and the mothfeel is super smooth.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Garthicus, courtesy of blankboy. Great name. Very dark brown, small white head, looks really interesting. Sweet aroma, mostly caramle. Good taste - strong, sweet, lots of hops - classic strong/barleywine here. Complex very strong stuff. Great.

Bottle (22oz). Shared by blankboy with me, garthicus and tupalev. Murky deep brick-red pour, average frothy tan head. Sweet roast caramel malt aroma, a bit like creme brulee, reminded me of wet concrete, drily bitter. Taste - pretty nice - follows aroma, quite peaty and bitter. Average body, a bit chewy, nice long roast finish. Not awesome but damned tasty - and 3/4 of us didn’t taste that 10%

Blankboys bottle! Thanks Paul, shared with Harry, Paul and Jeff!! Appearance: Dark brown, some floaties in there too. Aroma: Creamy coffee nut aroma, some slight malt too. Flavour: Nice, sweet-earthy flavour, nice bitter burnt malt finish, what a decent brew! The aroma didn’t quite match the wonderful flavour. Nice!
