Every year we brew a single batch of this holiday warmer using an original recipe thus making each year unique. The rich plum & raisin flavor in this batch is certainly a feat of strength while the complex spice profile shouldn’t be included in anyone’s airing of grievances. Happy holidays from the entire brewing staff.

2014 version. 12oz can. Filtered amber body. Foamy beige head. Fruitcake cinnamon-ginger-allspice aroma. Big fruit, spice...but I kind of dig it in this one. The malt complements it well enough. Spiced Winter Warmer with some Wee Heavy undertones. Well made, enjoyable for what it is.

Draft. 2014 version. Brown pour with tan head. Spice, fruit, other festive aromas. Flavors are spice forward, drinks warm but not overbearing.

Can. Christmas spice, pine, hop, plum and raisin aroma. Smooth beer for 7%. Surprising at that. Very carbonated, medium-light bodied, hops add a little bitterness.

Sampled at AC Beerfest (2014). (Assuming this was the 2013 vintage) Poured a clear amber color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and holiday spices. Taste mimics the nose with lots more cinnamon coming through.

Canned version for 2013 holiday season. Poured copper color, with a light haze and a 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of spices mixed with stone fruit. Medium body with a light dryness to the finish. Flavor is nutty with spices and a fruity note at the back. The spices linger in the finish.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours clear reddish copper with a medium sized tan head. The aroma has cinnamon and nutmeg. Spicy taste that is big on the cinnamon. Okay.

Crisp amber coloured body with a thin fast-dying tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, raisins, figs, plums and some toasted malt. Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty and earthy flavour with a lot of pit fruits and some good toffee notes. Aftertaste shows hints of light spices like cloves, nutmeg and canella and only a touch of sweetness - the rest is earthy malt notes. Overall, a nicely spiced beer with perhaps too strong of a malt and earthy flavour. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 30-November-2013 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 04-January-2013.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is spiced, herbal and toasted malty. Caramelish, ginger and spiced. Nutmeg. Roasqted malty and light bitter into a malty and spiced finish.

NikkTwist (2083) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Draft at Khyber Pass. Dark, but mostly clear, ruby pour. Decent tan head that left a lasting foam ring. Heady spicy nose. Medium red fruits. Cardamom. Nutmeg. Cinnamon. Candied ginger. Cloves. Blood oranges. Thyme. Pink peppercorns. Licorice. Vegemite. Pecans. Lavender. Barley sugar. Red beets. Celery root. Molasses. Red plums. Parsley. Lots going on. The dry spice stops it from being another sweet Christmas brew.

Pours a deep amber/ruby with a medium off white head. Aroma is spicy...cinnamon and clove...christmasy...maybe some sage? Flavor follows suit...a bit of a chocolate note...spot on for christmas beer. Mouthfeel is full and the finish is roasty and spicy. Nice.
