"Alt” in German means old, referring to the early 1700s before lager yeast was isolated and some German breweries brewed ales. Gestalt is a reference to the psychological principle that the sum, in critical applications, equals more than the sum of its parts. This Alt is brewed not in the common Düsseldorf Style, but in the Northern Alt style, giving it a more dry, roasty and less bitter flavor than its southern cousin. Light brown in color, this is a smooth drinkable session beer to be enjoyed again & again. 5% ABV, 20 IBUs
