JMFG (1117), Florida, USA Jul 16, 2008 Light copper color with a thin even white head. Nice citrus and pineapple aroma with a touch of caramel malts. Taste presents a thin palate and stringers of malt flavor and hops. Real mild taste vs the aroma. Beerlando (1258), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 6, 2008 Pours a clear, medium golden-orange color with a compact, foamy, off-white head. Honeycomb lacing marks the glass. The aroma is quite nice, showing fresh and juicy orange and grapefruit notes atop a lightly toasty, toffee malt backdrop. Pine lingers in the background as well. The flavor shows a disappointing dropoff, as the juiciness of the citrus hops all but disappears into a mundane, toasty, run-of-the-mill IPA profile. Cereal grains and biscuit assert themselves much more than the nose suggests. Medium-plus bodied and smooth, the alcohol is well hidden, lending drinkability. Overall, a nice little IPA. If only the flavor lived up to the nose, it would be damn good. kramer (1866), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 16, 2008 12 oz bottle, from brewery. Pours a crystal clear copper body with a small fizzy beige head. The nose is heavy floral hoppiness with some crystal and and caramel maltiness. I’m getting a bit of diacetyl as well, but none present in the flavor thankfully. The flavor is much more bitter than I expected, it really tastes much higher than 38 IBU. It pretty well overpowers the malt, but it the caramel does come out a bit more in the finish. The hops are floral and piney with a long lingering bitter finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. This was pretty decent, much better than I expected. beerbuzzmontreal (2700), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 5, 2008 Bottle courtesy of TomDecapolis. Pours a cloudy reddish amber color with a medium offwhite head. Nice balanced aroma of citrusy, floral hops and caramel malt. The flavor has a good dose of citrusy, piney hops with a rather sturdy malt back-bone that provides a caramel flavor, there is some bitterness in the end. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. This is a very good APA, thanks Tom! blipp (713), Grand Island, New York, USA Jun 4, 2008 Draft. Pours orange with an off white head. Caramel, citric and floral aroma. Medium body. Flavor has more bitter floral notes than the aroma, with a touch on pine and a light hint of caramel malt. Not bad.
