’Krooks Mill’ must have been the old name
for this beer - its now just the Manayunk
American Pale Ale. Typical APA: copper colored
with crisp, citric, floral cascade aroma and flavor.
Nice maltiness - very good balance, and good

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange-toned golden body with a clean white head. Nice fragrant, hoppy nose with pleasant outdoorsy pine woods aromas. Assertive hop flavors plus toasty sweet pale malts with a slightly grainy quality. Firm bitterness in the finish. Very fresh and enjoyable.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub on mainstreet. Pretty good representation of the style. Pours amber with spicy hop presence.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Too bad about the clear bottle, but this poured nice... with a small scattering of yeast chunks settling to the depths of a bronzed vermillion body under a thick, off-white head. Pleasant floral and citrus aroma becomes a bit overfragranced, like a deodorant soap, but it wafts away to reveal sweet caramel malt beneath. Dry and bitter with a lemon tartness, the flavor finds citric PNWs along with some flat tea notes. A very likable APA.

Krooks Mill on draft had a nice aroma and hop flavor I enjoy. At $4.50 a pint I'm happy it was good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Super piney IPA-ish aroma and hop-rich flavor. Very dense taste that is not often found in a beer of this type, or at this low ABV.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2007 Bottle - amber-honey color with a smallish white head. Aroma has some citrus with a hint of beer-battered onion rings. Taste is a spicy mix of grapefruit and pine hops with a bit of onion thrown in. Strangely good.

Dry and crisp with a hint of bitterness and a floral finish. A little bit of citrus, but not sweet. A nice golden color.
