COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since 1818 in Germany, Festbiers were traditionally brewed in March and stored deep in the caves until Oktoberfest. After a summer of lagering at much lower temperatures these beers were offered to the crowds who gathered for this celebration. Copper in color, its toasty malt flavor pairs well with a wide range of foods, including oven-roasted chicken, pork ribs, and chili.

On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Crystal clear amber to copper hued body with a short light tan head that sticks around for a moment.
Aroma: Sweet malts with some caramel and cracker aromas and a very faint fruitiness. This leans a bit sweet.
Taste: Sweet malts on the intro with some caramel, into a dry sort of floral and metallic tinge to it. Not bad until the finish.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Not a bad Oktoberfest, sweet and malty, but the finish is off-putting. This could have been pretty darn good.

"A" listing on this site redirects me here, though this is canned as Oktoberfest Amber Lager and comes in at 6.2% abv. Nose is lightly malty and quite nutty, some low Munch character and maybe a touch of earthy hops. Pours clear amber with a sudsy beige head. Some malt depth and complexity in the mouth, again strongly nutty but with more Munich, light spice, evident roast and Maillard-heavy character, really pleasantly toasty! Body’s fullish, bitterness is mild but really makes its bones in the aftertaste. Dry on the whole, rush of Munich to start - it’s almost Bockish to my taste. Quite flavorful and a slightly darker take on the style, glad I bought the four pack.
