Commercial Description:
After a long day of battling the Brits, our country's forefathers liked to enjoy a few pints of this style porter. This beer is big, round and smooth with perfectly balanced bitterness. Made with a subtle amount of Scottish peat smoked malt, it has a chocolately sweetness and roasty, toasty coffee overtones. Not like Guinness, Philadelphia Porter is one of a kind. 22 IBUs

on nitro-pours a light brown head that laces and black color with red tint. Aroma is chocolate/licorice/molasses, roasty, dark fruit-raisins. Taste is chocolate/licorice/molasses, roasty, dark fruit-raisins, secondary hops bite. Ok carbonation.

They put Peat in this thing! Holy cow. And it shows. This "Philadelphia Porter" has that odd taste of scotch and a light smokiness. Bizarre, yet I’m impressed.

Pours ruby/dark brown with aroma of malt, chocoff. Tastes malty, with chocolate and a roasty finish. This one is a tad light on the palate, but very good.

On tap at the Manayunk Brew Pub. Listed as their ’Philadelphia Porter’. Poured a dark brown with a reddish tint and a smaller off white head. Kind of a smokey and earthy aroma. Sweet smelling with light chocolates. Very light coffee taste as well. Body was a little on the thin side.

Draft at the Grey Lodge in Philly. Good solid porter with a nice hint of roastiness
