COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust Porter Originally enjoyed by the working class of England, porters inevitably became a staple in American brewpubs. Our interpretation is brewed with Caramel malt for a rich, toffee-like sweetness and a touch of English Kent Goldings hops. However, it’s the robust flavor of the black and chocolate malt that takes center stage in this dark, full-bodied ale. Pairs well with heartier fare such as short ribs, and chili. 6.0% ABV, 30 IBUs

Perfectly balanced for a porter. Touch of chocolate, touch of coffee, hint of smoke, touch of nuttiness. Creamy head and as the glass warmed the beer took on a creamier taste. Well played Manayunk...well played.

On tap. Pours a deep ruby brown color with a dense tan head that has good retention, and light lacing. Aroma of dark fruits and caramel behind fresh brewed coffee and malt. Tastes of roasted malt and coffee, with subtle smokiness in the middle, finishing with some pine hops, then a slightly bitter dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Full body, delicate light carbonation, and smooth.

Several drafts during a long, rambling, pointless keynote speech at NHC. Pours a deep, cloudy brown with think tan head and mild lace. Nose of roasted malts, caramel, some dark fruit and chocolate. Medium to light body, light carbonation.

On tap at Pro Brewers Night and a couple of more times at AHA Philadelphia 6/27/2013 Pours a dark brown/black with faint ruby highlights and a creamy tan head that shows moderate retention. Smells of chocolate, roast, caramel and a hint of dark stone fruit. The flavor is as the aroma advertised. Nice creamy silky mouthfeel. I enjoyed this one quite a bit.

Deep chestnut brown, firm, thin cream chocolate head. Light roast nose with cool grainyness, with brown malt particularly discernable. Vegetal roast flavor--actually not too bad as it contributes an unusual character.

Bottled. A trip down memory lane from the time before RateBeer, where I visited the brewpub. A dark amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, chocolate, and a bit of roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.
