cheapdark (1532), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 4, 2007 On tap at the philly brewpub. IPA floral hop aroma. Clear reddish orange in color. Alky flavors greet the taste buds. This is listed as an amber, but I bet it would qualify as an IPA in many beer rating circles. Ooooh boy, quite bitter. However, the bitterness does not hang as with IPA, it seems to be a bit more controlled with manners. Very little carbonation. Quite strong hops. Alky finish on the palate for a while. You know you are drinking a beer with ABV near 7%. DocLock (4047), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 9, 2006 This was a nice beer. The color was ruby/coppery. The aroma was of buttery caramel malt, fruit (berries, melon), and some red wine. The flavor was very fruity, with a semi-sweet red wine element coupled with more fruit as it warmed. Medium palate heft. This is a very unique, and refreshing style. Try this with strawberry shortcake for a nice treat.
