This beer style is rich in history, having been brewed for over 400 years! It was the drink of Robin Hood, Mary Queen of Scots, and became the traditional drink of the working classes in England. Coal miners drank gallons of this wonderful stuff every day to quench their powerful thirsts. Deep amber in color, full body with a big, malty mouthfeel, and a mild hop character. Rich toffee and chocolate overtones with a wonderful flowery and buttery aroma imparted by the East Kent Goldings we use to dry hop.
