This belgian IPA has aromas of apricot and banana from the belgian yeast combined with the piney, citrusy aroma of american hops to creat a wonderfully complex bouquet. This golden colored ale’s taste is dominated by the assertive bittrness of the hops while maintaining a balance that will please fans of both belgian and hoppy american styles of beer.

Draft at Eulogy. Cloudy mustard yellow Chardonnay color with a large pillowy white head. Tropical amber honey fruit sweetness with enough strong citrus hops for balance. Green banana. Apricots. Pineapple rind. Kumquots. Buttered biscuits. Honey comb. Somewhat unexpected full body. Mostly smooth finish.

On tap at the Khyber in Philly. Nice amber with a small head. Fruity aroma up front with a bit of the Belgian yeast. The flavor has some more fruit and a bit of sourness too. Very big hop hit towards the end of the swallow. Nice and refreshing.

On tap at Varga Bar, Philly. Another good local IPA, this one a deep golden orange, slightly hazy and with a medium silky head. Some modest yeast in the nose tangles with the otherwise aggressive hop profile. Nice full mouthfeel, a bit of heat. Flavors are slightly less complex than the nose would suggest, somewhat straightforwardly bitter with fruit in the finish. Still, a yummy one.

Pours a hazy golden honey color with a medium white head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma is very faint...some citrus. Flavor is piney with notable yeasty fruitiness...bit of apricot. Mouthfeel is light/medium with a bitter, piney finish. Decent at best.
